A Hindustani Classical vocalist; training started from the age of 3 years under the careful tutelage of my mother Smt. Shila Basu Roy for long 16 years and subsequently from 2011 to 2016, a Scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. An All India Radio, Kolkata artiste from the age of 14 years at Yuvavani, now a graded artiste in 'Khayal'.

Academically, pursuing Ph.D. in History; former Research Assistant at The Asiatic Society, Kolkata; a gold medallist in M.A. examination, Modern History, from the Centre for Advanced Studies, University of Calcutta. A topper in both B.A. and M.Phil. examinations (Loreto College and University of Calcutta).

Recipient of Linnaeus Palme Scholarship and Shashtri Indo-Canadian Fellowship for advanced studies in Uppsala University (Sweden) and University of Victoria (British Columbia) in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
