The Game SPECIAL - 293 - New Councilmembers – One Year Later

Published 2024-08-06
A year ago, we talked to four brand new city council members. They’re back to talk about what they learned in their freshman year. The Game is politics, The Game is on.
Welcome to The Game. A year ago, voters elected the most diverse group of city council members in local history, and the election signaled the emergence of a new generation of leadership that includes more women and people of color. We interviewed four new council members representative of the changes in who runs for and wins local office.
We’ve invited them back to ask them what they learned in their first year in office and what surprised them. We are joined by Foster City Councilwoman Richa Awasthi, South San Francisco Councilman Mark Nagales, Redwood City Councilwoman Giselle Hale and Menlo Park Councilman Drew Combs.
