Defoliating Cannabis Plants for Larger Colas

This is how I defoliate my cannabis plants grown outdoors in 5 gallon buckets. I use the same method for my indoor DWC plants as well, and this method works well for me I believe because I prefer to keep my plants short.

If you grow shorter cannabis plants it takes less energy for the plant to get the nutrients up to the top colas which results in longer & dense top cola growth, and more potent buds! I prefer quality of quantity but to each their own.

This summer I'm growing just five different strains of cannabis outdoors; Sour Diesel, Do-si-dos, Liberty Haze, Peppermint Kush, and Bruce Banner. The last three strains I mentioned there are personally my favorites❣

Nutrients I used to grow these plant outdoors:
- Weeks 1-8 of flowering Optimum Hydroponix®
- 2-Part Liquid Nutrient Concentrate
- Weeks 2-4 add Advanced Nutrients Big Bud
- Weeks 5-6 switch to Advanced Nutrients Overdrive
- Weeks 7 reduce macro nutrients & additives to approx 1/2 strength
- Weeks 8 Advanced Nutrients Flawless Finish Flushing Formula
