Raising real live pets in the world's smallest aquarium!

In this video I attempt to hatch and raise Sea-Monkeys in a fish bowl that's only 5ml in volume. This was an experiment to see how little water was necessary to successfully raise brine shrimp from eggs to adulthood. I do not recommend putting fish or other shrimp species in a tank this small.

  • I like that you actually let the whole experiment play out rather than having us come back for updates!

This guy is better at raising sea monkeys in a teaspoon than most of us are at raising them in a normal tank.
  • It's strangely wholesome to watch those two grow up in the same, small environment together and eventually start a family.

I like that you eventually move them into an appropriate environment. Even if theyre not as sentient as other animals, it costs nothing to show a little respect towards other creatures.
  • It's like Sam Walton always said: " The World's Smallest Aquarium is a great option for newcomers to the aquarium hobby, so long as it's in a 10 gallon with a common pleco."

"Mom can we get an aquarium?" "No we have an aquarium at home" The aquarium at home:
  • Aw this made me remember the singular time in my life I had sea monkeys! I had got them as a present for my 6th birthday, and immediately set them up. I was so excited when the first babies hatched, I was practically squealing! And I kid you not, every morning when I woke up for the next couple of months, there was always 2-3 batches of babies being born before my eyes. It never failed to excite me! The tank almost grew cloudy with how many babies and adults there were. But sadly, it all came to end when my younger brother kicked a soccer ball into the kitchen and it hit the tank that was sitting on the counter. The tank was knocked onto the floor and all the water and shrimps spilled out. I cried for weeks after. I havent had any since this incident, and it still makes me sad to walk past the cases of sea monkeys in the store. :(
  • Ik im like 2 months late but- WOW, This has really got me intruiged into raising a sea monkey kit of my own. Such unique pets

I'm glad you put that disclaimer on the end because this does seem exceptionally cruel and I could absolutely imagine someone putting a neon tetra or whatever in there lol

Suggestion: Have you tried going even smaller with seedshrimps? They're detrivores and insanely tolerant to everything. Sometimes I make biosphere with them and they're great. They generally grow to maybe one mm long (:
  • @lanthanien
After feeding brine shrimp for a while to fish, it was very cool to see someone raising them for the enjoyment of keeping them.
  • @WhuDhat
never knew they got that big, they're kind of elegant
  • i love your videos so much i used to have sea monkeys but they died due to unproper care i really want to get some more but i want to make sure i'm educated enough before i do. you've helped so much!!! thank you x :virtualhug:
  • I have seen lots of world smallest aquarium but that is the best one i have seen. Seeing growing real fish in smallest aquarium is the best part.👍
  • @dizzydragon
The biggest mystery i'm trying to solve is what the "Cupids arrow" powder was, i remember reading a blog where they used it and instantly the males began mating instead of the females being parthenogenic, ive asked a brine shrimp factory if they knew of any chemicals that would make them act like that but they told me they didnt know anything like that existed
  • @revol2933
It's scary to realize that there're people in this world who would seriously put a living fish in that bowl
  • Just imagine if he decides to feed his sea monkeys 2 cans of monster energy
  • @ninatiels
That was incredible. I honestly didn’t expect it to work so well. First time I ever saw what they look like. It’s not what I expected but still cool.
  • I love the fact it was a whole love story there! ❤😂
