You see, he didn't forget Trevor, he just gave us his most well known fact: Trevor is the most forgettable rival.
  • @vexeddarklight
Bro mentions Shuna and Tierno as minor rivals, but leaves out Brendon/May from gen 3, Trevor and Calam/Serena from gen 6.
  • @Moon-nk3co
Man Alex forgot about Trevor, the most iconic rival from X and Y
  • @noahberan6498
Hau is an underrated rival, he acts nice and chill because he's trying to avoid the pressure of being the Kahuna's grandchild. He also goes through a pretty good arc throughout the story. He deserves more love
  • @toumabyakuya
Forgot about Trevor. As for a fact for him? Like the other rivals in X/Y, he represents a sector of the fanbase: The Pokemon collectors. He represents the fans that wants to complete a Pokedex/Living Dex. The other 3 represent the other three major sectors of the fan base: Shauna represents casuals, Tierno challenge-runners and Calem/Serena represents the competitives.

3:59 correction: both Kieran and Nemona have level 87 pokemons during the epilogue of the SV DLC
  • @garchompelago
Another neat detail about Klara, once you beat the main story of The Isle of Armor, she will be forgiven by Mustard for cheating against the player and will be given a second chance to redeem herself to be better. Once you obtain her second trainer card, there are subtle details about her character. -Her Slowbro is no longer distorted showing that her picture is not photoshopped this time. She is not lying to herself anymore -She is wearing a facial mask to improve the complexion of her skin. Most likely making an effort to be pretty without using photoshop. -She is also seen working out most likely as an effort to lose weight because again, she does not want to use photoshop anymore. It goes to show her character development. She is actually putting actual effort this time (working out and actually taking care of her apperance) in order to achive a goal and be better rather than to cheat(use photoshop and like how she tried to cheat against the player).

N doesn’t have a different team because he loves Pokémon, technically. It’s because, per Team Plasma’s doctrine, he’s releasing the Pokémon he catches after every battle and capturing new ones from the area when you encounter him.
  • @johnherb4243
The Barry fact is actually incorrect, in the Mochi Mayhem event in Scarlet abd Violet Nemona's Ace is level 87, with the rest of her team being 86. So Barry does not hold the record for the highest leveled rival.
  • Leon did not cheat the reason he was able to use. The gimmick twice is because of the legendary Pokémon shared its power with him and Ash.
  • Other fun facts about these characters: * Let's Go confirms that Oak not knowing your rival's name is a practical joke he plays on Blue. Blue calls him out for using an old joke. * Ignoring that false Raticate bit, Trace's Marowak is actually the orphaned Cubone from Pokémon Tower. * Silver owns a Ho-oh and Shiny Tyranitar in Pokémon Masters EX. Said game also implies he stole his Sneasel from Kurt. * Wally is apparently immune to aging as he appears in Alola's Battle Tree, and the Alola games take place 20 years after the events of ORAS. In addition, Wally has a Shiny Gardevoir in Pokémon Masters EX, likely as a reference to him potentially finding a Shiny Ralts. * The reason Barry keeps trying to fine people because he wants to gather money for his own Battle Tower so he could challenge his father there. * If you manage to beat Bianca in her first battle in Black and White without taking any damage, Cheren will make a note on how you somehow won without taking any damage. As the scenario is highly unlikely to ever happen, the dialog is next to impossible to actually trigger. * When Black and White were first released, Bianca was widely misreported to be the Champion of the Pokémon League. What a plot twist that would've been huh? * N's full name is Natural Harmonia Gropius. Pokémon Masters EX also shows him to own Zekrom, Reshiram, and Black Kyurem, the latter having fused with Hilbert's own Kyurem. * Some Team Plasma Grunts note that Hugh's hairstyle resembles a Qwilfish. * Pokémyth busted: Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor are not your rivals in X and Y, only Calem/Serena is. The only time there are even associated with rivals is in Pokémon Masters EX, and even then Trevor is not a rival at all. They are there to emphasize X and Y's theme of "'beauty', 'bonds', and 'evolution'", and to highlight how the chance encounters you make with people you meet, to provide opportunities to build a better world. *Calem and Serena (who aren't in the video for some reason): Calem owns a Shiny Greninja in Pokémon Masters EX, which is implied to be his first partner. Serena possesses a standard Greninja, but her first partner is Fennekin. She also has a Zygarde. * Uniquely for a rival, the player will not black out in battles against Hau and the story will progress regardless of the outcome, except for battles taking place at Mount Lanakila (in Sun and Moon) or the Pokémon League. He is also the only rival to have caught an Ultra Beast, as he catches a Blacephalon in Ultra Sun or a Stakataka in Ultra Moon at Poni Grove, though he gives it to the Ultra Recon Squad immediately afterwards. * Gladion is technically the only Rival to nickname his Pokémon, as he refers to his Type: Null as "Null". In the anime he straight up calls it "Silvally." * Hop uses a Gigantamax Corviknight in Champion tournaments, despite the fact that there is no way for him for the Rookidee he caught before the Wild Area to have the Gigantamax Factor without DLC. * Bede is the only Trainer with multiple League Cards to have his signature change between the two. He is also apparently left-handed. * Marnie possesses a Mawile that can Mega Evolve in Pokémon Masters EX, despite the Galar games lacking the mechanic. * Klara originally started as an underground pop singer, but despite her best attempts at self-promotion, she only sold about eight copies of her debut album. * Coming from a family of psychics, Avery is considered by his family to be a disappointment due to him only possessing telekinesis, and not more impressive skills like teleportation or telepathy. * In Pokémon: Paldean Winds, Nemona uses a Killowattrel and a Combat Breed Paldean Tauros. As Nemona trades a Paldean Tauros to the player in the League Club Room, it's suggested Nemona used these Pokémon on her original team. * Kieran's Dragonite has the Normal Tera Type, which is never seen in normal gameplay. * Gary is the first rival to capture a Legendary Pokémon on-screen, being a Regidrago. He is also not only a rival to Ash during the original series, but was a rival to Goh during their time with Project Mew. * It is revealed in his reappearance in Pokémon Journeys that Paul is more calm and happy now, as a result of the fact that he was asked to become a Gym Leader, making him want to learn more about Pokémon and their nature. * Trip is the only rival from Unova to have participated in every onscreen battle tournament within the region. However, he lost in the first round in all but one. * Cameron is the only Unova rival to use a Pokémon from outside of Generation V, being his Lucario. * Leon is the only Trainer to have used the Counter Shield technique with one of his Pokémon who did not appear in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl. Also he didn't cheat as Eternatus appeared over Wyndon Stadium and recharged both Trainers' Dynamax Bands. * Storyboard artist Tetsuo Yajima has stated in an interview that Alain's character arc in Pokémon the Series: XY was derived in part from that of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. * Ritchie's Charmeleon becomes a Charizard in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga, but in a match against Ash's own Charizard in the Pokémon League, the latter attacked Ritchie's Charizard so severely that it was bleeding heavily from a bite wound to its neck. As a result, Ash recalled his Charizard giving Ritchie the match.
  • @dimentdash
9:48 bit of a mistake here. Trip did have a cameo in ep 117 of Journeys during Iris vs Cynthia while Cameron did not so he's the only one of Ash's rivals who did not appear in Journeys. Also while Alain was the big rival I think Sawyer should've been included.
  • @pattersong6637
I refuse to believe that anyone who promotes Raid Shadow Legend actually plays it.
  • N's teams being different each time is because he uses pokemon from the Local area, then releases them afterwards. Ties in with his want for them to be free/not in balls
  • @usermcskull4713
Leon was able to gigantamax thrice because of Eternatus going into the stadium. Also I think it'd be fun to do facts on all the protagonists, you could even throw in some protagonists from other media like the anime and the various manga
  • @jamaldavis2480
What do you mean? Barry didn't have the strongest Pokemon of any rival. Heck Nemona had a level 87
  • @giboit.
Leon didn't cheat. Both him and Ash got an extra chance to use dynamax thanks to Eternatus. An interesting fact about Leon is that he has the biggest amount of sponsorships of any character in SwSh. He's even sponsored by Gamefreak itself. And Klara/Averi have some other pretty interesting facts too: Klara is an underground idol that even made her own merch and sadly only sold 8 copies of her first album Avery comes from a family known for always having the role of being the psychic type gym leaders of the region. Except Avery because by comparison to the rest of family, his psychic powers were considered weaker. That's why both decided to join the isle of armor dojo. To get a chance to eventually become gym leaders by training under an ex-champion. Despite this Klara/Averi actually have a fan in the isle of armor that you can interact with through the story and always says how much she admires them. It's a female dojo trainer npc that even gives you an item that she tried giving to them but that they found a bit weird. It's pretty cute and funny.
  • Technically, Kieran isn’t the first NPC who uses a Master Ball, as in the post game of Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon, all of the Evil Team Leaders have their Pokémon inside Master Balls when you battle them.
