Join me for a walk around the staggeringly pretty village centre of Staithes, located on the picturesque Yorkshire coast between Saltburn and Whitby. A historic fishing village, this popular seaside spot has evolved over the years from a small, rugged community into one of Yorkshire's favourite coastal destinations!

On our walk around Staithes, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including Penny Nab, Staithes Beach, Captain Cook's Cottage, the Church of St. Peter the Fisherman, Dog Loup, Gun Gutter, the Cod & Lobster pub, High Street, The Royal George pub, Roxby Beck, Old Jack's House, Staithes & Runswick Lifeboat Station, Cowbar Nab, Staithes Harbour, Cowbar Nab seabird colony, and the North Sea.

Thank you so much to the following sites for their help in my research of Staithes:

And welcome to this walk around the heart of one of the prettiest seaside villages in Yorkshire, the historic fishing community-turned-tourist favourite: Staithes! One of a number of locations in Cleveland with links to the history of Captain James Cook, Staithes is the best place to visit if you'd like to learn more about the explorer's life. At around 10:07 on our walk, we look up High Street towards Staithes' former Methodist Church, now converted into the Captain Cook & Staithes Heritage Centre. It's one of the best things to do in Staithes, particularly if it's not quite sunny enough to lounge around on the beach :

I used to live in neighbouring Hinderwell and my Wife is a Staithes girl. This walk brought so many memories back of our childhood and teenage years. So thank you we really enjoyed watching this.
