Gurez Valley is about 140 km away from Srinagar, We visited Gurez valley in the month of June, which is the peak season time. Road from srinagar to Gurez is good, we didn’t face any issue.

Gurez valley is cut off from the rest of the kashmir during winter time i.e. November to March. In fact even in April month sometimes the routes are not open bcoz the road passes through Razdan pass which has snow till april.

This Video was shot on 27th June 2023.

Below are the activities / key destinations we visited in Gurez valley.

Log Hut Cafe is a perfect place for bikers, hikers, and locals to stop for a cup of coffee. This cafe is in Dawar, Gurez Valley. Log Hut Cafe is exclusively run by the Indian army.

Dawar is the largest town of Gurez Valley.

Khandyal Top is a beautiful spot in Gurez Valley. Khandyal is a medium size village located in Gurez Valley.
Camping Charges: 4 person Rs 1500
1 person Rs 1000

KishanGanga River - It is a major tributary of the west-flowing Jhelum River. It is also known as Neelum River. Kishanganga River originates from Vishansar Lake, which lies on the mountains above Sonamarg.

Tulail valley is surrounded by mountains similar to every other place in Kashmir lies mostly on the bank of the Kishanganga River. Tulail gives you the feel of old Kashmir where one can spot old structured houses of Kashmir.

Sheikhpora Village is the second last village of Kashmir after Sheikhpora Village the last village is the Chakwali Village where tourists are not allowed in the Army and local villagers are allowed. We visited the Sheikhpora Village and had local food there.

Habba Khatoon Peak is the dominant peak in Gurez Valley. Habba Khatoon, named Zoon (meaning moon) by her parents, was a Kashmiri poetess in the 16th century. There is the Habba Khatoon spring near the peak.

We ended our day at Log Hut Cafe in the evening and had coffee.

We stayed at Dawar - Kaka palace - tariff rs 4500 double occupancy incudes breakfast and dinner for two.

Driver - Showkhat Bhai - 9906876232 - he is a good guy but as it happens when there is a rush he may send someone in his place, so do check out with that someone your self before you book the cab.

Hope you enjoyed watching this episode.

In the next video you will see our journey from Gurez to Srinagar.

Hope you like the video.

Gurez has a virgin beauty and spectacular. The way you covered your journey through your lenses is awesome. Hope this place remains like this otherwise most tourist places become so commercial that one doesnt feel like visiting.

There is a point alongside the Kishan ganga/Neelam river where the human settlements of both India and Pakistan are located just across the river facing each other. They are so close that people of either side can clearly talk and wave to each other. I have watched this in blog of Shoab Chaudhary of Pakistan.
