People in 2012: They’re being so rude and childish People in in 2019: I can’t believe how polite they were to each other

wow I come from the future and I can't believe this is how intelligent and civil our debates used to be
  • @LordVader5738
Can we go back to this kind of debate? Feels good to see people discussing ideas rather than insulting and interrupting each other.

Obama is a fierce debater, his ability to tie in quips with relentless facts and rhetoric is something to behold.
  • @cyrus2546
Mitt Romney looks like the president in every 1990’s action movie.
  • 2012 election: Candidates are discussing Policies, budgets, strategy 2020 election: Candidates calling each others pigs, stupid, silly nicknames 2024 election: 2 old man fight in a cage, the winner will be the president

When you already spend so much on your military that when you propose an increase in military spending, the military says they don’t actually need more funding. Isn’t that just insane?
  • @oweeenie1754
it is utterly inconceivable to me how sterile and nonchalant this debate is, compared to what we’re used to in this decade or so. i don’t care what they’re representing or proposing, these two are actually human professionals, my god where are we going.

I don't understand any of this without constant audience clapping and everyone talking over each other.

"We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them" 😂😂😂

This debate in the future: “Nobody loves the navy better than me, I love the navy, I’m the greatest lover of the navy”
  • @jasonfultz7637
Why aren't they calling each other fat or old or stupid or giving each other silly nicknames? What's happening here?
  • @JaysonElliot
I miss the days when candidates talked about issues and ideas like adults. Doesn’t matter if you supported Romney or Obama, they were serious, respectful people. You could vote for who you preferred and still be friends with someone who voted for the other guy.

The horses and bayonets comment was one of the greatest lines in debate history. Meanwhile, we have 2 old farts arguing who’s the better golfer 🏌️‍♂️
  • If Trump was in the debate. “The NAVY is the greatest. I love the Navy. I think we can help the Navy. Make it great again. Like America. I’ll make it happen. Because I’m Donald and I love our beautiful Navy. And America.”
  • @amgirl4286
This is how debates should be. No crowds...no reality shows...everyone gets a chance to talk. Focusing on the issues. Not the crap we have today
  • @Edibloke
They both sounded like real political beast . Intelligent, respectful to each other. I liked how they both articulated their vision with clarity and precision.

We didnt realize how spoiled we were to have conversations like these. Massive respect for Mitt Romney looking back.
