Happy Sunday! Let me know your wardrobe flops and what you learned from them!

Can you make a ā€œmy most treasured items in my wardrobeā€ video pls? Great content as always ā¤ā¤ā¤

I like how you go through your thought process in detail, that's helpful. I think the worst part of the milkmaid dress is its color. Possibly in a deep teal or chocolate brown it might have more "edge." The white just looks like a nightgown, no matter what the silhouette.

I am impressed that there were so few of them. You know yourself.
  • Youre definitely right that the button down is a little too short! At this length its kinda stuck in only the office wear category as opposed to being a more versatile piece like your other button downs

the way i giggled a bit when i saw that red cardigan in the thumbnail šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜… thanks for the great vid as always!

Christina, I have the same struggles with gold jewelry. And what Iā€™ve started doing to offset the color imbalance is pairing it with silver and/or pearls. For me, mixing other necklaces with the pearls makes them less fussy and prim, and the white, for me at least, counterbalances the yellow tones that can be problematic with my undertone. Mixing metals is helpful! I also find that brushed gold looks a lot better on me and when you pair it with very shiny gold thereā€™s a texture mix that also works. Iā€™ve discovered that playing with texture in jewelry can lift an outfit as much as the textures of fabric.

Iā€™m glad you kept the red cardigan for the reasons you ended up mentioning. As I was watching (before I got to the part where you said you are keeping it) I was saying to myself, ā€œwear it around your waist or shouldersā€ - thatā€™s what I did with a fine red cashmere sweater that got a big moth hole!

Good choice to declutter the white dress and New Balance sneakers. Although I love my New Balance sneakers for my morning walks and working out. I did like the loafers on you, though. I have a light navy cardigan that I also use to only wear across my shoulders, but I am a cardigan girl and have many that I actually wear as cardigans. My daughter just came to visit and I had several items that I decluttered and she added them to her wardrobe. Yeah!
  • The cardigan is an orange base red . You should wear a blue based red as it will suit better.

This is why I like following the Kibbe system. You dress for your bone structure. I seldom make mistakes when I follow his recommendations for soft classic. Itā€™s cardigan city for me. šŸ˜‚
  • It is crazy how much I resonate with your content. Every video every emotion and every opinion. Itā€™s scary crazy but good
  • @pajamamama5965
Great video! I love your mind set. One thing I've learned from my mistakes is that oversized tops don't flatter me. They make me look bigger than I really am. On my weight loss journey, I told myself that if I bought the larger sized pieces that they would just look oversized once I slimmed down but it didn't work out that way. I looked swamped. I bought way too many pieces in my larger size, but honestly I wasn't sure if I'd ever get the weight off.
  • @gulserocak
I knew back then that you would get rid of that red cardigan. Donā€™t ask me how šŸ˜‚
  • Lovely video ā¤ I think you are right about the blue shirt being too cropped. As Ellie-Jean pointed out in one video, your silhouette is slim, long and straight, so longer lines tend to look better on you. A longer fitting button down will look more harmonious than a cropped one. I think the same goes for the shoes that fell too chunky. As you got a slimmer frame (like slim bones), even though you have a lovely muscular physique, slim shoes wonā€™t disrupt your lines and look better on you. Maybe this helps to describe why you felt that way about those clothes šŸ˜Š
  • @Wasserkatze555
I have too many to count! Lessons learned :) I find with chunky shoes, they can be hard to wear if you have fine features (which I have as well).

I like your reasoning why you are keeping or decluttering certain items. Iā€™m doing the same, but feel incredibly guilty for donating my items as they arenā€™t that old (2-3years). I want to keep them longer. But I am trying to come to terms with the fact that Iā€™m older, Iā€™ve had major surgery which has changed my upper body and that Iā€™ve fluctuated in weight due to stress. I always keep thinking, maybe I should keep them but then I look at the items that are an immediate yes and compare to the ones Iā€™m unsure of which makes it easier. I take notes so that I donā€™t make the same mistake again. Thank you for another great videošŸ’™

Such a relatable video. I try to be very mindful with the new pieces that I buy. But inevitably I sometimes make the wrong choice. It's reassuring to hear how you've problem solved and let go of pieces you tried to make work. Sometimes itā€™s just not meant to be!
