Shadows back story is the most tragic in the sonic saga.

Fun fact: they made a special comic showing what happened between the 1st & 2nd movies. Sonic stopping a bank robbery, Tails starting his quest to find Sonic, Knuckles starting his hunt for Sonic which led him to join forces with those aliens we saw get bodied in the beginning, Eggman slowly losing his grasp on reality on the Mushroom Planet, and Stone executing the contingency plan that sees him rise up in power in that coffee shop. I love that they got Tails' voice actress from the games to voice him in the movie. I love how Tom's ring tone is the Green Hill song from the first Sonic game. 40 minutes in and she finally gets corrected about Tails' gender. Meanwhile, everyone in the comments is going nuts. 😄 I love how Andrew is enjoying the movie references while I enjoy the Sonic references. 😄 The deleted scenes were so good, I could see them being in the movie in some kind of extended edition. 1:00:00 - Andrew & Tara: Super concerned for Sonic. Me, a Sonic fan: Smirks as I know what's gonna happen next. 😁 3rd movie's coming in December. Hoo... That after credits scene still gives me goosebumps. Both of these movies have one scene where sonic loses all of his rings and i just love that. It's a simple yet iconic moment from the games that could have easily been forgotten about, it's the details like these that help this movie shine

I saw this on opening night in a massive jam packed theater. When that mid credits scene played there was a lot of gasps "no ways!" then followed immediately by screams and applause. The theater people waited outside the entrance juat to get our reactions and when we left they just went: "So that credit scene huh? 😏"

I love all the references to other Sonic games. Jim Carrey brings his A-game, as always, and this is by far the best iteration of Knuckles in recent years. Idris Elba knocked it out of the park with these lines. His heart-to-heart with Sonic on the beach is one of my favorite Sonic scenes ever. I couldn't be more excited for the third movie.

27:41 They were a little taken aback. I think the joke is meant to be that Russians fear nothing. Also, Knuckles is fast, but not as fast as Sonic. And Tails is a boy, he's just voiced by a woman because he's supposed to be an 8 year old child.

Glad to see you enjoy this movie as well, it's an awesome movie. Also yes, Sonic 3 is releasing in December of this year. Tails is indeed a male character voiced by a female actor. That's actually a pretty common thing for anime and animated characters, other examples include Ash Ketchum from Pokemon, Frieza from Dragon Ball Z, and Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parents, just as a few examples. Also, at the end of the movie they mention Tails's full name of Miles "Tails" Prower, in keeping with the theme of speed and such with Sonic, Tails's name sounds similar to Miles Per Hour. Knuckles does have speed like Sonic does, but I don't think he's quite as fast. Generally he is more known for his physical strength and sometimes the abilities to dig and fly depending on the game and such. Idris Elba is amazing casting for Knuckles, great voice, great mannerisms, and great delivery overall. Also, as established in the movie Knuckles is an Echidna which is an actual real world animal similar to a Hedgehog, which is why they look sort of similar. Sonic is indeed unable to swim in most games and it is an easter egg as Andrew mentioned that Sonic can inhale bubbles to refill his air timer in the games. the golden Sonic is actually referred to as Super Sonic, it is only something he (and a couple other characters) can do when in possession of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, it's his ultimate form, wildly increasing his speed and physical abilities and such as seen in the movie and is used as his Final Smash in the Smash Bros video games. Without spoiling anything, as a simple explanation, Shadow is a more edgy dark Sonic that was created rather than born. More basically, he's Sonic in an eternal emo/edgelord phase. Also, the voice they got for him is also very well chosen and I'm excited to see what he does as the character. Couple of easter eggs, Tom's ringtone is actually the theme music for the Green Hill Zone levels in the Sonic games, the music most associated with the Sonic franchise. Robotnik's coffee shop is actually a reference to a spin-off game called "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine".
