Life lessons: on keto I am no longer a diabetic. Lost 70 lbs in 11 months w/no exercise. I eat. A lot. No hunger pains. No longer need thyroid meds Fibromyalgia almost non existent Cholesterol dropped 50 pts in past year I am 61 I need QUALITY of life.
  • I went on keto and combined it with intermittent fasting. As a result I cured my fatty liver and dramatically reduced my acid reflux symptoms. I think I'll listen to my body over a recent med school grad.

This study left me with more questions. What were the people's causes of death? What was the average age of the people in the study? How did they monitor what people were eating. What was the race of the people in the study? Were they deficient in vitamins and minerals?
  • As a renal failure dialysis patient, switching to keto has actually favored the dietitian and routine doctors. For once I can now get out of bed and start my mornings like a normal person. I don't get reflux and vomit like I did on lots of carbs. 8 do get cravings but I rather not be sick anymore so I love keto
  • @DreamsOfLegend
The biggest take away from the study is: 40% carbs isn't keto
  • Keto diet saved my life. I had stage 3 esophagus cancer. Started the keto diet. The doctors were blown away. I went from stage 3 to stage 1. I had refused chemo The doctors agreed to do surgery without chemo and radiation. ALL of my blood works come back great. I give GOD all the credit. Sugar Kills..

It always seems to be that just eating a variety of real unpressed foods is what matters more than a particular diet

I have tried vegan keto and meat ket and even carnivore...I discovered that I have like 3 times more gout flares on vegan keto. It doesn't sound in line with medical advice but that was what happened. The most useful diet for me is turning out to be Carnivore OMAD, and no I do not gorge myself. In fact, I have very little appetite and am no longer food abscessed.

Keto saved my life... I lost 85 pounds, reversed my diabetes, blood pressure is normal now, and I feel fantastic. Been doing it for 4 years now.
  • @sirdavidr6064
Quality of life is more important that length. Dying 4 years sooner but being healthier and feeling better is definitely worth it

When I first started keto I started as a vegetarian so my fats and protein came from plants, eggs and dairy. I lost a lot of weight quite quickly and also adapted well to IF. Food no longer ruled me! However, my skin and eyes became very dry and my skin was also very crepey. I slacked off, carb cycled from time to time, and slowly began to eat seafood once in awhile. Now I'm back on Keto and eat some kind of meat once or twice a week. I've become addicted to dairy so I limit its availability. I'm 61 and most everyone guesses me to be in my 40s. Sugar is a zero and bread is a sometimes maybe but I really notice I feel achy and look puffy the next day. I enjoy keto sweets but I don't crave them. Its a balancing act and often I just ask my body what it needs and go from there. Sometimes it's just a glass of cold water☺

I love your energy in this video doctor. And, I wish you had read, and thought about, the entire study, and not just the conclusion. I also did a video about this study...
  • As living on a keto diet for 3 yrs now. I no longer have weight, blood sugar, arthritic pain, joint inflammation, high blood pressure or sugar cravings. I feel so much better than I even did in my 30's. When I started... every doctor I talked to did not recommend the keto diet. They wanted to push me medications and a pill to take. I can only comment on the way I feel and what I have found to be true for me. KETO ON!

my great grandfather is 96 and I know one person doesn't prove anything, but my father and grandfather both died of heart attacks. He still runs 2x a week and walks the other 5, and some light weight training, and I'm quite sure he can still do 10 chinups. He's 5'6 weighs about 140 and takes no medications. He started the original Pritikin program before I was born (I'm 35) and he's altered it over the years by using whole milk instead of skim (1 glass a day) and adding nuts daily and fatty fish once or twice a week. I did the math and his diet is 45% carbs, 40% fat (7%saturated or less) and 15% protein, mainly from plant sources (1 glass milk and 4 oz of usually chicken or fish a day) His bloodwork is probably better than most 20 year olds. That's it. This is about as complicated as I'd want to get, I really don't care about the other diets, for me I try to follow something at least close to this. Have a good day!

I followed doctors orders to eat the healthy carbs and low fat. My triglycerides were crazy every single time I had blood work done. I was very active and no matter how much butter I avoided and spinach I ate nothing changed. So I started eating animal fat, butter and full fat dairy. I also did low carb and intermittent fasting. Along with feeling amazing my triglycerides dropped by 40 points. I changed my diet months before the next time I had blood work done. Cholesterol was unchanged. It was my little science experiment. I know how I’ll continue to eat :)

Been losing weight for a year now. Started Keto December 2019 and started feeling better immediately. Headaches, fatigue, tingling in feet and hands, restlessness all gone. Started at 330 pounds and I'm down to 240. Almost 100 pounds lost! I feel better now at 29 than I did at 18.

HERES THE BENEFIT I GAINED FROM BEING ON KETO DIET, BEING DIABETIC AND SUFERRED FROM HYPOTHYROIDISM....FROM INFERTILITY AND IRREGULAR MENSTRUATION....I DECIDED TO BE ON KETO AND LOST 25 KG ...I REGAINED MY PERIOD AND NOW 3 MONTHS PREGNANT
  • @reo3x573
There is literally a study to debunk every study.
  • @neomontana9170
She should have included what kind of foods the subjects of each group have been given., not even in the study has shown what food they ate, because for us who knows what real keto diet is, the kind of food is so basic. I have been in clean keto for 5 years and I love it. It really keeps the doctor away and saves a lot of dollars from sick care.
