  • "I mean you can take a knee! and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit, man, this is the Super Bowl!"

Say what you want about Brett’s decision making and gunslinger mentality, but one thing you can never question was his toughness. Thanks for all the memories Mr.Favre the game was never quite the same since you retired.

The game that changed the overtime rule book.
  • Say what you want about Favre, but you don't see many QBs today who showed that level of toughness. In today's NFL, there would have been roughness penalties galore.

As a lifelong Vikings fan, I don’t know why I’m rewatching this. Is it masochism? Idk. I distinctly remember this game as I was 19 years old and this was the first Vikings season I truly invested in. I watched EVERY game. Every pass. Every run. Every touchdown. Every emotion. I’ll never forget jumping up and down with my friends as Favre got us in the red zone late in the fourth quarter and hugging each other, shouting, “WE’RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL! WE’RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!” Pure elation. Then it happened…. Brett Favre threw across his body over Chester Taylor into the defense’s arms. We watched in horror as we screamed, “NOOOOOO.” You all know how the rest of the game goes. Another typical heartbreak for the Vikings fans. I should know better not to get my hopes up. This was a pivotal moment in my Vikings fandom. Maybe one day, just one day, I’ll be able to witness my beloved team even MAKE it to a Super Bowl. Until then, I will sit and keep my hope in check. We see a gimpy 40 year old Favre out there, diving for Harvin's fumble. Take notes, Cam Newton.
  • If this is Favre’s last game he left this mark; just kept getting hammered and kept getting back up trying to give his team every opportunity to win. Respect from a Louisiana native.

1:23:10 how Cam should have tried to dive for his fumble in the Super Bowl, that’s why people love Favre
  • As a Saints fan shout to brett Favre and the vikings. They gave us one hell of a game. One of the greatest games in the history of the nfl
  • I think my team was 1-15 this year (St. Louis Rams). As a football fan. This still remains one of my favorite games EVER, to watch.

“This isn’t Detroit, man! THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL!” One of the best calls ever made in NFL broadcasting.

Pierre Thomas was such a beast in the playoffs.
  • @days4LT
Coming back after about 12 years and still thinking we haven’t gone back to the super bowl is just sad. 🖤💛⚜️

One of the most decisive clutch game-winning kicks ever in the NFL - Hartley may not have been the best kicker around but damn he absolutely drilled that one. There was no doubt about it whatsoever.
