  • A lot of Indians were tricked into going to the Carribean and not paid the wages they were promised or doing the job they were promised. Some were told that they were just going to a different part of India and were shipped across the Atlantic.

Amazing video - thank you for making this topic. Our school system failed to teach us properly that the Indian diaspora was the largest mass movement of people in the 19th century. One love to my Indian brothers and sisters worldwide from NYC way of GT 🇬🇾

Awesome. I have never come across such a SUPERB video about Indians in the Caribbean! Much appreciated!
  • Thank you for this video. I am 68 and never learnt Hindi, as our parents never taught us, using it as their secret language.Of course I know some words and phrases. Indian Indentureship was another form of slavery by trickery. And, as mentioned in the video it was harsher than some aspects of African slavery. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

Pakistan became a country in 1947, therefore in 1919 there were no Pakistanis who moved to the Caribbean

It’s amazing how they have preserved their culture, language and food habits through 100’s of years. It impresses me how people brought in as slaves have evolved through generations and still stay connected to their roots.

I think you've made a wonderful effort to at least showcase the Indian diaspora. It does provide an overview of our history. So thank you for that.🙏
  • Many indians staying at west indies are the backbones of their existing citizenship. Iam praying to lord Jagannath for them 🙏🏻
