When buying a new GPU, you have the choice of grabbing a reference spec card or something more exotic from an AIB which will generally command a slight premium, but is the extra cost worth it?

What card will you be picking up?
  • @100500daniel
The Sapphire Nitro is the most robust cooler ever put on a GPU by far (and the best looking imo)
  • @bradeinarsen
I started with a Gigabyte that was similar to the reference but couldn't take the fan noise. I did pay the ferryman and got the Sapphire... it really is worth it. Fantastic performance, fantastic cooling, and hey the giant RGB improves frame rates (obviously). :D

I have had the 7900XTX Nitro+ for about 2 months now and honestly I'm blown away by how capable it is, the extra money should be an investment on the comfort and extra headroom you get with this card over reference, not that reference is a bad card in it's own right.
  • @BitByteTechs
I'd really like to thank you for this video, I haven't seen a straight up comparison by many tech reviewers.

Best review ive seen yet. I already got the card but for some reason i still like to watch reviews about it. I watched almost every review on yt and this shows the strangths of the nitro+ the best.
  • @nitro-b-ni6xs
Nice comparison. Note: when comparing overclocks you should use the same resolution. The reason the reference card had a higher boost clock is due to it running at a lower resolution.

sapphire rx 7900 xtx for sure. If I were upgrading this gen. However this makes me really excited for the next gen after this when I may choose to upgrade again. Currently with a rx6800 and def have no need to upgrade at this time but those perf numbers are such an improvement already!

Great video, mate! Last time I had an AMD video card was when they still were ATI. It was a pair of 5870 in Crossfire. My EVGA 3080 is going to my brother so I'm getting the 7900 XTX Nitro for my new build. I'm psyched to get that beast in my new PC!
  • @Kylethejobber
I wish I would've waited and got the Nitro or red devil. I had to pull the trigger on day one and buy the reference thank you for this detailed video I wish more people would be like this
  • @mikesunboxing
11:23 some weird stuff going on there between the two cards nitro using 60w more and nearly 200 fps less
  • Crazy that you uploaded this only a week ago. This is literally the exact comparison that I’m looking for to make my purchase. Wondering if it’s worth having to get rid of my Meshify c for the sapphire.
  • @BB-wh2vu
As of me writing this, it is less than $100 US difference between them and it isn't even Black Friday yet. So thank you this was very helpful.
  • When I realized that my 10GB 3080 will be limited by VRAM before its architecture I started looking at AMD. I get it, Nvidia does it to segment their gaming and enterprise business, makes sense. Know what else it does? Makes we want to buy AMD. Two new 7000 series GPUs, one with 20GB and the other with 24GB. Less expensive too. Yes DLSS and Ray Tracing are nice features but I like to brute force my graphics more often than not and this 7900xtx can do it for less money. Well done AMD.
  • @formbi
Sapphire does include fuses on the PCB (which could be a lifesaver in case of a short)
  • @KamtanaR6
I couldnt help but notice that at 11:45, the cards youre testing are playing the same game on a different resolution yet you still compare the clock speeds and temperatures.
