He passed away on July 1, 2004, from a lung infection. Brando's career was marked by iconic roles in "The Godfather" and "A Streetcar Named Desire," though later marred by personal tragedies and financial issues. He was not a sociopath as was suggested early on. He cared for the underdog. He had a dreadful upbringing. He suffered hugely many times. He was such a great actor and so handsome, I feel great sadness for him. Thank you Marlon for some great movies.

Monstrueusement doué, monstrueusement vorace, monstrueusement indifférent ou monstrueusement concerné, monstrueusement malheureux... Un monstre sacré!
  • So glad that this fascinating documentary was translated into English. Had a great big crush on Marlon Brando when I first saw his movies in the early 1970's. Really did not understand the complexities of his personality until I saw this video. Was rather sad to find out that he had a rather messed up childhood and that he did not get the love he needed from his parents. But was rather disgusted by the terrible way that he treated the women in his life. Although he seemed to have become a joke by the time he died, I do believe that he deserved to be featured as the cover story of People magazine when he died and that he deserved more praise and recognition when he passed. R.I.P. Marlon Brando
Respect inconditionnel. 🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏
  • Brilliant Documentary, I only wished they talked more about his activism and how deeply political he was.

This, from George Englund, is very different from what he wrote in his memoir about Brando. For one thing, he said nothing about there being not chair, did mention nurses in attendance (they were definitely there), lunch, etc. Brando's sister had just been to see him. His children visited him regularly, as did others. In fact, son ran to the hospital the say after Englund's visit when he heard Brando had been taken there, but he was too late. In his memoir, Englund wrote of his shock the day after his visit when one of Brando's nurses told him that Brando had died. They had a complicated relationship. There are errors in this video. Coppola didn't have to be convinced about Brando. Both Puzzo and Coppola wanted Brando from the beginning.

Thankyou Marlon for having a Native American Woman recieve your Academy Award , her Symbolic Speech , and your Stance , rooted for all the underdogs in the Country .
  • Marlon Brando Was a beautiful man in his youth And an absolutely amazing star A real actor. There is no body like that and anymore. I don't even watch movies they're not worth it. He died age 80 Pulmonary Fibers A rare disease for the lungs
  • I had a modern dance teacher in college, who told us that Brando used to play bongos for her dance troup, in the Village, long ago. She told us he was "weird" 😀 Brando was a Beatnik, for a while
  • This is one of the best bio- documentary ever. Very honest, very accurate. Very informative without the otherwise usual bs attached. Thank you to whomever made this video.🎉😢
  • He was a great actor and made good movies thats all we need to know about this man ❤
  • Who is the little guy in the kitchen location with white hair providing so much on camera testimony?? This is a very interesting documentary, but it fails in the graphics department… It doesn’t identify who speaking.
  • Era un grande attore e un uomo sexy bellissimo il più bello del mondo ❤️
  • Marlon Brando was far from being a sociopath as some initially thought. He had a deep compassion for the underdog, endured a harsh childhood, and faced immense suffering throughout his life. He was not only a phenomenal actor but also incredibly handsome. His passing fills me with great sadness. Thank you, Marlon, for your unforgettable films.
  • Fascinating insight into a true enigma. Love hearing from people who actually knew him.
  • It is said we will die as we lived, true in this case. Sad, he had attachment issues. What a legend. Thank you for posting.
  • Und das muss die Welt wissen? Ein bemerkender Schauspieler. Ruhe in Frieden.😊
