The WRX brings AWD performance from Subaru. On the outside of the BASE trim you will notice 17in wheels, functional hood scoop and WR Blue paint. On the inside you will be greeted by a unique dual-screen center stack setup, cloth seats and leather wrapped steering wheel. Under the hood is a 2.4L turbocharged flat-4 that is mated to a 6-speed. Is the 2024 Subaru WRX Base the BEST new sport sedan for $30k?

IT IS the best sports sedan you can get with a 6 spd manual for $30K! I got one last Oct, great car!!!
  • It's practical, yet fun. And it does sound great. Yes, for this price, I like it!

Great car for the price, but 19/26 mpg is hard to swallow on a 4cyl turbo sedan. Full size trucks are pushing those numbers now.
  • Joe said this is a 2023 model at @ 9:15 so the heading is messed up ! ---- The Subaru website says their 2024 WRX Base is $33,800. next step up is the Premium at $35k. top one is $45k.

I added an AWE exhaust and some aftermarket wheels/ tires. Super happy with mine. Great value for the $34K i have in it. Best WRX yet.

24 base models have the full infotainment screen. This is a 23 base

For 30k out the door, yes the best for the money

I see these everywhere and they're so much better looking than in pics (and I don't even mind the wacky black cladding around the wheel wells). Car has a great butt.

Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍

The base is the fastest VB WRX as it’s the lightest, also has a solid roof without a sunroof which is better for structural rigidity. There won’t be many 6MT AWD gasoline turbo cars made much longer, this car will be sought after in the future. The base dual screen infotainment also looks much cleaner than the gaudy full screen version which is piano black and will scratch easily. The base is the version to buy for peope who “modify” their car and want the most structurally sound and lightest version, the HP is the same. But it’s the fastest of all VBs. Just needs the TR brembo brakes 👍🏻

For me, the sweet spot is the Premium trim but without the Harman Kardon stereo and sunroof, which saves almost two grand. Inventories are plentiful (at least where I live) and most dealers are willing to play ball. The only other Japan-built sport compact with AWD and a manual transmission is the GR Corolla. Great car undoubtedly, but way more expensive.

i got one last year and just added the cobb exhaust and it just is way more fun sounding. people look at me on the sidewalk now wondering what car that is or whatever and before the car kind of went under the radar. now im just dying to get that intake and tune to see what 302hp and 348tq to the wheels feels like in this car. going out to clean the car right now haha

I got a base model a few weeks ago. I decided to go with the base because its the lightest and i didnt want a sunroof because the last 3 cars i purchased before the wrx had a sunroof. I didn't care for heated seats because i would only use during the colder months and i like the base dual screen and having a actual key and didnt care for fogs and i can always add them later. The engine specs are the same across all models so it wasn't a hard choice only thing i wanted was Harman Kardon soynd system and the recaros

I sold them, I drove them and l LOVED them. All the power you need, superb AWD management, decent gas mileage and of course, great handling. Lots to love in this car, not to mention a durable car that brings great resale value. To many, it is an iconic car!👍
  • @karmahunden
I wanna get the base trim just so that i dont have that huge screen and can feel the ignition when turning the key.
  • @gramb5611
WRX base is nice, but gotta go all the way for me. Didnt think any car had a key anymore. Have a great weekend Joe 🤙🏼
