The ultimate analogy of trickle down economics is Thorin Oakenshield promising that with the support of Lake Town, once he reclaims his gold horde, the wealth will flow down from Lonely Mountain and bless the people. But when he finally reclaims his gold, his mind becomes so warped by his precious treasure that he refuses to share it with anyone. Despite the fact that the support of the people was what allowed him to gain the gold.

Trickle down is basically just the rich saying we should be happy with the crumbs they leave us after helping themselves to the pie.

Americans who believe in "Trickle Down", are like turkeys who think Thanks Giving is a celebration of turkey values.

Trickle down doesn't work, it just buys the rich an extra Porsche.
  • The first time Reaganomics hit, Mom had to go find a job just because ends were no longer being met by Dad's job. So what now? We gotta send the kids to the Coal Mines to make the rent payment? Forget the Mortgage. You ain't never getting a house now. We have never recovered from Reaganomics the FIRST fucking time in '81.
  • He looks like a cross between Bernie Sanders and Al Franken 😂😂

That's possibly the best, most accurate explanation of "trickle down" theory I've ever heard.

Trickle down economics. Before that it was known as voodoo economics. Before that it was known as "SCREWIN THE OAKIES!" - Lewis Black
  • Lewis Black's laugh is a ray of light in these increasingly dark times.

"There are two ideas of government. There are those who believe that, if you will only legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, their prosperity will leak through on those below. The DEMOCRATIC idea, however, has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous, their prosperity will find its way up through every class which rests upon them." - William Jennings Bryan's 'Cross of Gold' speech before the Democratic National Convention, July 9, 1896

This was in the early 1970s. I just graduated from a small Christian college in Southern Cal. At a party outside of the campus, the Dean visited to congratulate and mingle. Not a big deal since at a small institute we all knew the faculty and administrators. A female student (very sweet and attractive) came to our little group of graduates a bit shocked and dismayed that when the Dean came up to her for what she thought would be a hug and congratulations, he instead held her tight and proceeded to "French kiss" her. She pulled away and went to the other side of the room to distance herself from him. We calmed her down saying that the Dean was probably drunk. Forget about it we said. She was 22 or so and he was in his 50s. I'm sorry we didn't tell her to report his sorry ass. Christian college, indeed.

Republicans, please find the nearest rich person you don't know, or your boss, and give them all of your money, then see how long it takes for it not only to go back to you, but with interest. Reply the amount of time in scientific notation please.

As a rich guy I only need a certain amount of jeans or pillows. I only eat and drink what most normal people do. Maybe I'll take the extra money so I can put solid gold taps on my Jacuzzi.
