Hey rabbits!
I think we all agree that German is a beautiful language. But it differs from region to region. Have you ever wondered how Bavarian sounds like? Or Saxon or Alemannic? Well, let's figure it out together in this video of me trying to speak in 12 different German dialects! Enjoy!

In Bavaria we don't say: Hab' alles dabei, wir können jetzt losgehen. We say: Gema. And I think that's beautiful
  • @lemmontree1
She looks like she shed a lot of tears trying to learn these dialiects.

Imagine the frustration of preparing to spend a semester in Norway, studying the language meticulously, watching movies etc, being pretty confident - only to end up in Trondheim, where they appear to not have been briefed about being part of the Norwegian speaking part of the deal.

I spent 8 1/2 years in Germany while I was stationed there. My German is fairly good. I know every town seems to have their own dialect. My first wife was German but she spoke with me in high German. And so did any other German Talked to. I could hardly understand some of those dialects you spoke.
  • Hochdeutsch: Entschuldigen Sie, ich habe sie nicht verstanden, können Sie das wiederholen? Hessisch: Hää?
  • @xeno_zzz5246
In german we dont say: Torben würdest du dich mit dem anziehen beeilen, der bus kommt gleich. We say: hammersbald? I think it's beautiful😊😂
  • Hello one of your rabbits here. Sorry for taking so long to getting back to you on this but I think you did a fantastic job. Great work😊

As good as you think this lady's English is - and indeed her English is outstanding - her impressions of the various German dialects is off the charts fantastic. I happen to also speak German (lived in her neck of the woods - Wolfsburg - as a kid, then 4 years in Austria), and have been exposed to so many German dialects. I literally cannot describe how impossible it is for her to replicate / shred all these dialects. After watching this video twice, I'm still completely incredulous - what an AMAZINGLY talented women. Hopefully someday she does a video impersonating a Styrian / Austrian dialect :-)
