Taken From Blue Planet II
This bold cinematic experience takes viewers on a magical adventure across the greatest, yet least known, parts of our planet – our oceans. Since Blue Planet aired in 2001, our understanding of life beneath the waves has completely changed. Travelling from the icy polar seas to the vibrant blues of the coral atolls, this series shares these astonishing new discoveries. Meet the strange octopuses lurking in the depths of the Antarctic Ocean. Watch giant trevally fish leap to catch birds in mid-air. And ride on the back of a hammerhead shark as it attacks. Inspiring awe and wonder, Blue Planet II reveals surprising new places, charismatic new characters and extraordinary new behaviours.

That one crab trying to fight off the ray by itself What a legend.

"They can't eat all of us" tends to be a surprisingly effective strategy to survive.
  • @zorros2200
Everyone talking about the crab squaring off against the gigantic sting ray, but no one talking about my boi at 3:47 who goes to cover his friend. That's a real homie

I like to imagine the cameraman, disguised as a human-sized crab holding a camera, trying to act scared.
  • @YemYum
the way the stingray just hovers over them, gliding above them so elegantly... Its like something from an alien movie.
  • @TheBestSam42
I love how that stingray is like the antithesis of the crabs the crabs are small, reddish orange, hard and spiky/textured and than the stingray is big, navy blue, soft and smooth. Even the movements are the opposite the crabs move jerkily and erratically while the stingray flies in gracefully like water with fluid and graceful motions.

I'm surprised no one is talking about that powerful wing flap at 5:06 by the ray, tossing crabs up into the "air". One crab even got yeeted while spinning away. That was really cool.
  • @Knatrick
Jesus, calmly watching that crab molt, then a Stingray moves into frame looking like a B-2 spirit bomber with that ominous music. Well made.
  • @Irl_Skeleton
OK but imagine how good that must feel!?! Like it must be scary to be so soft and squishy, the stingrays definitely don’t help, but like it must be a bit tight in that shell and then just to burst out like that?? Probably feels at least a little good

the crab at 4:11 is my hero.. dude squares up on the stingray like a champ.
  • @Ddarke11
"there's safety in numbers" Meanwhile, the rest of the crabs: "take this one as a peace offering and leave the rest of us alone!"
  • @norijager
Man, noone talking about the Stingray using his special move at 5:07 sending those few poor crabs skyward. That shit was incredible.
  • @Knoah321
BBC is literally on another level with this production quality. This shit was so intense! Bravo BBC crew!
  • Crab trying to fight Stingray: "I shall see you again in Crabhalla brothers!"
  • This was great too watch. I didn’t know if I saw all of that underwater I would have understood what went down. Amazing stuff. That stingray entrance and music was beautifully shot.
