Jamie Raskin is a brilliant and rare human. There isn't an ounce of arrogance in him. He is a thinker and a fighter. He knows what it is to be broken from pain and to keep going, keep working, keep digging deep, and to keep asking more from himself. He kept going through the death of his son and the immense and unrelenting grief of his loss. He kept going through treatment for lymphoma. He keeps going despite the unceasing death threats he receives and the threats posted by Trump that the Jan 6 committee members will experience Trump's revenge. He doesn't conduct himself with swagger. He is not awash in self-righteousness. He is a man of thought and study, and this matters so much. There is always more that we can do if we tap into our resilience and don't allow ourselves to be distracted by the noise of those who have no idea what they are talking about. Chaos is not the antidote for chaos. Jamie Raskin knows that Trump weaponizes words. He also knows that just because someone says something, it doesn't make it true. It still has to be true in order for it to be truth. The world is in tumult. Peace, solace, and refuge can still be found. This I believe.
