I'm April and I have my A.A.S & B.S. in Animal Science and over 18 years' experience in professional dog training. I specialize in canine behavior modification of grumpy, submissive, & overjoyed dogs. I have a natural gift for instructing owners even with the most stubborn, shy and aggressive dogs using proven and effective methods. My passion is watching grumpy dogs become happy and content. This is achieved by helping owners learn how to use their own emotional energy to effectively communicate and train their dogs to have good manners and be well socialized with other dogs and people. • This seems so much better than being nervous while introducing dogs. I’m happy to learn the right way to introduce dogs.
  • When I learned it from this video is how to do a meet and greet with all the dogs and that it’s OK for the dogs not to meet all the dogs if they don’t want to. We shouldn’t force them.

Loved this! You seem like a great trainer April. I also am partial to dogs who seem aggressive or super reactive, like when walking by their fence. Almost every time, if I get my puppy to act correctly and I project confidence in the interaction, the other dog calms and is actually happy for the interaction because they know they have no reason to fear it. My pup now has some bff's throughout the neighborhood that get very excited for the daily interaction. A lot of people who have dogs that seem really aggressive and reactive don't understand that it's their own behavior that reinforces the behavior in the pup. Great video that more owners definitely need to see. That boerboel puppy was absolutely gorgeous! I love that the owner is being proactive in the training as that's not a breed for the faint of heart haha.

my 100 pound fur rocket loves all dogs, but they dont love her. She gets bitten as she is overly friendly. But this is a good exercise. I still think little yappy dogs are the problem. You train your dog every day and then a yappy comes along.
  • @Liz.Renee..
In a scenario where you may have your dog in the yard, and theres a dog in the yard next door or walking on the street, how do you hadle the situation? I have tried correcting the negative reactions and even inviting positive reaction without getting nervous myself, but these scenarios seem to set off my dog and she wont disengage.

Most people don’t understand dog language.
