You can't compare : Angelo is clear fire, Tchavolo flies like a bird, Stochelo is clarity, Jimmy sparks stars on melody, Birelì is a wonder grenius. They are all great musicians.

  • I learned more about rhythm watching the shiny left boots of these masters than I did in 4 years of music class at high school

The CD of this Concert "Memories of Django" from Tchavolo and Angelo is one of my favourite. For me that's Gypsy Swing at it's best.

And how nice are these lovely lads to take a lifetime to perfect such an expression of love!

    Can't help loving this.. fantastic!
  • Angelo Debarre and Tjavolo Schmitt are my favorite gypsy jazz guitarists individually. Together, they are like magic. Some of the younger players of this genre may be faster and cleaner (e.g., Joscho Stefan), but none of them come close in tone and expression. I must have listened to this concert several dozen times by now, but it's always as good as it was the first time I heard it. Thanks so much for posting it!
  • So grateful for the many thousands of hours of dedicated discipline it must have taken for this music. Deeply inspiring. Thank you!
