पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री और TMC प्रमुख ममता बनर्जी ने 24 घंटे में अपने उस बयान से पलटी मार ली है, जिसमें उन्होंने कहा था कि अगर इंडिया गठबंधन की सरकार बनेगी तो वह उसे बाहर से समर्थन देंगी. ममता ने गुरुवार को कहा कि वह विपक्षी गठबंधन का पूरी तरह से हिस्सा हैं. टीएमसी प्रमुख के इस बयान से लगने लगा था कि कहीं इंडिया गठबंधन में दरार तो नहीं पड़ने लगी है. मुख्यमंत्री Mamata Banerjee ने तामलुक में चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान कहा, "ऑल इंडिया लेवल पर दिए गए मेरे कल के बयान को लोग गलत समझ बैठे. मैं पूरी तरह से इंडिया गठबंधन का हिस्सा हूं. इंडिया गठबंधन मेरे ही दिमाग की उपज थी. हम राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर साथ हैं और आगे भी रहेंगे." हालांकि, इस दौरान Mamata ने राज्य स्तर और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर इंडिया गठबंधन के दलों में भेद बताया. उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि कांग्रेस और CPI (M) बीजेपी के साथ हैं.
