People in 50 years are going to be writing thesis papers on the effect of memes on the culture and shit like this is going to be unironically cited as emblematic of the era. This just makes me think about life. Like, how many people have lived and had an impact on the result of this? Like, just imagine... The number of producers, voice actors, animators and musicians that went into the anime rips alone. Theres a tiny little guitar lick at 4:30 from Death Grips' "I Want it, I Need it." Which is a three-man band, but going back further that lick wasn't originally from that song, it was sampled from Pink Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive". Going even further, this mashup heavily samples "Welcome to the Black Parade", and Gerard only started writing music after witnessing the 9/11 terror attacks, so even that had a heavy impact on how this turned out. The butterfly effect is fucking wild.

This isn't just a meme, if you listen to the songs that play during it and the tone of the mix as it plays through, this is a typical portrayal of the hero's journey, including a major character death at 9:00 in the song, kicking off the saddest sounding part of the song before the major villain is defeated and the heroes look back on their adventure and the friends they made along the way, which is why the songs from the beginning, where the MC was alone and bored with his life play once again, but more triumphantly than before.
