  • My neck of the woods...and swamps lol...I enjoyed seeing it through your camera.

I always like this bridge to me it's an engineering marvel as you drive over the swamp and see some boats pass under you. I've been on the it multiple while on trips from Texas to Florida to visit relatives. Great video as always Jim.

You were very lucky. I live in Lafayette which is 50 miles west of Baton Rouge. On most days, in the afternoon and early evening, traffic bottlenecks eastbound at the bridge and backs up for miles.

I miss Louisiana. My dad grew up there. I grew up in Texas. We traveled to Louisiana all the time. I live in Oregon now. I hope you’re having a great day Jim! Thanks for the videos.
  • I love that stretch of interstate. I'm from Pensacola and that part of the drive means that the roadtrip to the west has just begun!
  • Amazing songs from my childhood along with the beauty of Louisiana, it doesn't get any better!
  • Always loved that bridge, it's a fun part of the drive from Houston to Tennessee. Filmed on my birthday, too... 😂
  • I enjoy the commentary at the end, seeing who you are helps to make the videos more like riding with friend than just seeing places

In that area where I-10 and I-110 intersect, the construction of a newly created exit was completed on I-110. It was created as an alternative to getting to Washington St. so you wouldn’t be compelled to hop two lanes over on I-10 after merging to get to Washington St.

My wife's from Alabama. So we travel this route on a regular basis from Texas to visit her family. The background music fits the video perfectly.

Jim, really like your commentary. Thanks for another great season,
  • @gannman1975
It's been quite an excellent season once again. Will await the Finale - well done and thank you for all the efforts put into these videos :)
  • Dude, good video! Thanks for all of your videos! Have been down this one many times.

As a Louisiana native I enjoyed seeing this through your eyes. Excellent choices on the music. John Fogerty's Born on the Bayou is such an incredible song considering that he had spent very little time here when he wrote it. What a great Musician he was and is! Jerry Reed's Amos Moses, another Louisiana flavor well captured by a non-native. Thanks to all!

Nice set of bridges down there in Louisiana! Also very interesting to see Baton Rouge a bit and all- nice ride- great sound track- smart going with Born on the Bayou- nice touch! Also the Jerry Reed song is great too- as I always was a fan of Jerry Reed! Great ride, great commentary and looking forward to the season finale' next Monday!

I have gone that way so many times leaving Dallas going to Florida. I usually take the split to I-12 through Hammond and bypass New Orleans and then pick up I-10 again. That sight never gets old. Thanks for the video.
  • Driving across the Atchafalaya basin during the flood of 1973 was epic. Pronounced locally ,Chaff-fa-lie-a and La Plas (short a's). If you make it up I-55 to Manchac, stop at Middendorf's for fried catfish.

Everytime I go to new orleans from Houston this is absolutely my favorite part of the drive. The drive from lake Charles to Lafayette is rather boring and mundane and then you get to cross the swamp, over the Mississippi, then into baton rouge. It doesn't get any better. Happy trails Jim!

Love driving through that bridge when I would drive to Houston back then. Awesome video!
