I think the reason the watermelon one went viral, was not because it looked good or tasted good. But because everyone was watching those videos because of how crazy it was.
  • Try coring out the pineapple and filling it with pulled pork, then wrap it in bacon and smoke it. Baste it in BBQ glaze… it’s amazing!
  • @mikejackson2228
Worcestershire sauce isn't vegan. It has anchovies. Though there is a vegetarian version.
  • @drunkhas
Slow roasted pineapple is one of the most exquisite things you can ever have, just cut it into discs and you can prep the bacon apart and have them toegether, the savoriness from the smoke and salt of the bacon combines with the utter sweetness of the pineapple will make the experience 10 times better.

I feel sad for the wasted watermelon.

Leo is the description boss! I have been watching for years, he is the master of description. Guga, don't lose that dude!

I love your experimentation and spirit of adventure.
  • @lunova6165
I like how Guga's number 1 rule when making a rub is to not use salt and to salt it separately and the number 1 ingredient in his rub is you guessed it Salt.

I don't understand one thing at all. If someone is a vegetarian, and doesn't like to eat meat, then why are they trying so hard to make vegetarian food that looks like meat 🤔🤔🤔
  • @axdambient
the pineapple doesn't surprise me. idk how common it is elsewhere, but in LA a lot of local burger joints have teriyaki burgers with a nice grilled and seasoned slice of pineapple and bacon. if you go to Pasadena, Top's Burgers is known for these and theyre pretty great

Guga is out of his ever loving mind with these experiments.
  • @jjwong3
I love the ending. I found it funny because Guga said exactly what I was thinking.

In regards to the pineapple, it goes surprisingly well with barbecue sauce. I found a recipe ages ago for “hawaiian bbq chicken wraps” and it’s literally just chicken, pineapple and bbq sauce. The ingredient list is super short but it tastes absolutely amazing. One of my favorite dishes
  • Guga, great video. The first dish you had reminded me of the appetizer my mother has used for her Christmas brunch for as long as I can remember. Take chunks of canned pineapple (canned doesn't have the enzyme that tenderizes meat, so do not use fresh pineapple) Take a half strip of bacon and fry it up. While the bacon is still warm and flexible, wrap the chunk of pineapple up in it (360 degree wrap, with overlap. Then stick a toothpick through it. It should resemble a bacon wrapped scallop, but with pineapple instead of a scallop. These can be eaten fresh, but if you make it a day ahead, you can put it in some Tupperware, and refrigerate overnight or up to two days. When the day you want to serve it comes, just take it out and heat it up in the oven. Put if in on a warming plate to keep it warm during service. The best thing is that the bacon is still nice and firm with the soft pineapple for a contrast in textures, along with the salty/sweet combo, meaning this is a well balanced dish. Give it a try sometime.

As a bbq party trick I'll sometimes throw s few slices of watermelon in the grill. Just give it a light coat if Olive oil and season it like a steak. Its actaully pretty good if you get some grill marks but i wouldnt say its amazing.
  • @metalmowytone
Guga! How can the first dish be vegan when Worchester sauce is made from fermented fish?
  • @shaman5433
You also can soak the pineapple in salt water for a while to inactivate the bromelain and I think drying it out a little before wrapping the bacon could help to get it cooked better on the inside as well. In the video the bacon looks quite uncooked where it touched the pineapple.
  • @Zylo1111
Worcestershire sauce normally has anchovies in it so it's not exactly vegan.
