I love how badass Marcus is, even as a retired father he is still cool and tough as fuck.

Anybody see how Marcus went to go get the lancer and you can hear him walking

I’m not surprised Marcus has a metric fuck ton of surplus military weapons laying around his property.

Fucking love this trope of one character misunderstanding the situation, and instead of interrupting them to spell out what they don't know, everyone else just says things that only reinforce their misunderstanding. It's totally not a forced and artificial way to extend conflict at all. Marcus thinks JD is coming to him for help in escaping the COG. JD: "Dad, we need your help. We were attacked and our friends were taken." Non-dumbass JD: "Dad, we were attacked by monsters who took our friends. Do you think this looks like Locust?" Jinn thinks JD and co. are committing seditious terrorist acts. JD: "Jinn, listen, you have no idea what's actually happening here." Non-dumbass JD: "Jinn, we were attacked by monsters who kidnapped our friends, they're the ones who attacked you." Jinn thinks Marcus is aiding his son in sedition. Jinn: "So we're clear, Sergeant. If you choose to aid these fugitives, I can't protect you." Marcus: "Yeah, sounds about right." BRRRRRRRRRZT Non-dumbass Marcus: "What my dumbass son JD failed to mention earlier is that he and his friends were attacked by non-human monsters, and that you have bigger concerns than this dumbass feud."

Marcus: "Yeah that sounds about right" That's definitely something Marcus would do and Jinn clearly stupid willing kill The Leader of Delta Squad killed RAAM, Scourge,The Queen. I bet if Dom was still around all hell would break lose

Marcus might be old but he can still pull it off. But seriously, I'm glad he's there and Gears isn't a whole new story with different characters while the old characters are only referenced.

Even when he's in his 60's, Marcus is still built like a brick house.

Marcus and Cole are the best in the series.
