Another productive day of lionfish diving offshore Pensacola, Florida in the Gulf of Mexico. Removed close to 400lbs of lionfish and had a few bonuses. Can’t wait to get out there again.

The lion fish aren't even noticing there friends being speared like " oh where did he go oh well "

are they nonreactive to the obvious slaughter of their kin because they dont understand being hunted due to having no natural predators?
  • Lionfish: WE STAND AS ONE! Diver: Well, we're gonna pick you up, one by one.
  • Good job at the conservation. I knew Lionfish were invasive in Florida and didn't realize they were that bad. Yeah put on a tournament every weekend and kill those things off. They are eating all the other fish that sustain the normal ecosystem.
  • That ray blew my mind! I had no idea it was there until it swam away

Well thats not hunting them... more like "picking up some lion fish" :D

This feels like the aquatic version of buffalo hunting. Hunters would shot the buffalo and they drop and the others in the herd didn't care or notice or even react. Thank you for handling this invasive species!!

This problem with never go away until lions and fish quit having sex.

I’m new to free diving and spearfishing and this vid helped me out learning how lionfish would react to being speared. I’m not sure if there are any in my area of Florida but I’ll be finding out soon
