When I was in college I rehabilitated an abused horse who was terrified of everything and would lash out. By the end of the summer he was so gentled up, he was able to be sold to a young girl as her riding horse. He was such a source of joy to me.

Coco is a beautiful horse, and you were both lucky to have found each other. I was a ten year old girl living with my. mom in an apartment in Chicago, but that didn’t stop me from BEGGING for a horse. My mother asked me where we would put the horse, and I had it all figured out—I said we’d board it! You are living my dream. 😊

Horses are very social animals. They can read human body language extremely well. When you earn their trust they will bond with you for life. Horses need companionship, be it with humans or with other barn animals.

Our donkey loves to have her teeth brushed (and the natural peanut butter we use as paste), it's a major treat for her. We know what she wants because she bares her teeth and smiles while following us around they barnyard.
