This is like the 7th time I've purchased a version of Final Fantasy VI, and I do not regret it.

One of the best changes is the auto save and quick save function for FF3. It makes the crystal tower more tolerable.

Also, I just played through the Opera scene last night. Words cannot describe how much of an improvement to the original it now is. Beyond legendary, beyond iconic
  • The 2x and 4x exp and Gil gain boost was the best feature they added. Perfect for me to relive these classics without having to spend hours grinding.

For FF6, Sabin's inputs could always be done this way all the way back to the SNES version. Was just not documented in the Blitz screen as an option.
  • FYI, the SNES version of FFVI also allowed for only cardinal direction inputs for Sabin's blitzes in lieu of diagonals. For example his Aura Canon (down, diagonal down left, left) could be entered on the SNES version as down, down, left
  • 5 and 6 are my favorites of the old games overall, though 2's skill based leveling system is my favorite feature from the first three games though.

Surprised you didn't mention the changes in FFVI to Cyan's Bushido -- it's way better in the Pixel Remaster. Now, you just pick which sword art you want to use from a list, and it charges on its own in the background. In the original, you had to sit there with the bar open while enemies attacked freely and nobody else in the party could attack, and pick which charge level as you reached it -- and if you passed it, you'd have to either pick a later one or start the charge up over again.
  • This video was so well done! Thanks! I was really looking for a good explainer of all the changes/improvements in the pixel remasters.

And sadly still no expanded content from ports/re-releases
  • @fatenabu1
Also, having played every version of these games and owning every version, I would say the definitive FF4 is the one for PSP that is 2d that includes the after years in 2d. To me it is the best of everything with ff4

Thank you guys for making this video! I've been wanting exactly this kind of breakdown on the pixel remasters!

The Pixel Remasters are the best thing to happen to the franchise since 2013. On top of my elation that I can finally play an official English release of the real FF3, which I 100%'d, the rest are just as wonderful. The music is also rarely a miss, and that's never the case with these kind of releases. It's a huge labor of care. Much appreciated.
  • Man, I love this pixel remaster. Never had the chance to play 5 and 6 and I wasn’t a fan of the graphics on the 3D remaster on Nintendo 3DS. Now I can play all 6 in all their delightful pixeliness. I’m having such a blast with this.
  • I'm so stoked to play these! I've only play FF1 back on Windows Phone when I wanted to Achievement hunt on my 360, as well as the 3DS Remake of FF3, aside from that I haven't played the remainder. Can't wait to tackle these in order and add each of the Platinums to my trophy collection, especially after having played Theatrhythm to death lately so it'll be really nice to hear where all the music originated from.
  • @drakemane
Those console changes better be coming to the other versions too.
  • @yosoyavery
Amazing! I’m so eager to play these remasters. I just played some of the 3D remakes, but never tried a pixel FF before! ❤ amazing video as always!! Thank you!

I'm torn. I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan but my journey started on the GBA on FFIV. I'm very sad they removed the additional dungeon and other content they added throughout the years.
  • @stormcutter59
First time playing all these games. Finished 4, deeply in 6 at the moment, and enjoying every minute of it. I've wanted to play these games for a VERY long time and this is the best time for anyone to do it. If you havent experienced these games, please PICK THEM UP and i swear you'll find just as much enjoyment as i have had while playing them.
  • If im not mistaken (definitely could be), Kazuko is the sole creator of the sprites for ff brave exvius which is incredible at the rate they pump out units.
