A Dutch politician Geert Wilders held a telephonic conversation with suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. Taking to the platform ‘X’, Geert Wilders called Nupur Sharma a “symbol of freedom for the world”. Endorsing Nupur Sharma, Geert Wilders said that the “brave lady” did nothing wrong but speak the truth. Nupur Sharma was embroiled in a controversy after she allegedly made derogatory comments about Prophet Muhammad. Sharma's remarks had sparked outrage across political spectrum, reigniting discussions about freedom of speech. In response to the backlash, BJP officials have attempted to distance themselves from Sharma’s remarks.
