as a film student, this playlist is so beyond beautiful. it really scratches my brain, setting the scene. i just imagine a wonderful dance number in a 1950's movie with a beautiful and majestic backdrop as the two main characters dance. so pretty to listen to and let my mind imagine.

Imagine you're in New York, and it's night. You're in a hurry to meet your first-ever date at a rooftop restaurant. Stars are twinkling above you, and the streets have been drenched with rain just minutes ago. You're running your best in heels. You make your way past a homeless person but turn back to drop a penny. You almost trip over a street musician next, who gives you a "slow down, love" and you smile in response. You're so close to getting there, but by the love of God, your heel breaks. Cursing loud enough to have people around you take a good look, you take the pair in hand and run barefoot. Oh, good heavens. Your hair's a mess by the time you finally reach the elevator of the building that will take you to the top. You rake your hair with your hands when the door slides open, and you see your date sitting at the supposed spot, bringing a big smile to your face. He notices you and gets up. The next thing you feel is a tight hug and his warm palms on your cheeks, his face full of worry. You chuckle and proceed to take a seat with him.

There are times where i struggle a lot with self deprecation and tonight was one of those nights where that voice in your keeps saying how worthless you are. Putting this playlist on made that voice significantly quiet while making me think of old cartoons like Hanna Barbara.
