The Masters of the Universe Origins toy line is a modern action figure collection that pays homage to the classic Masters of the Universe (MOTU) franchise. Created by Mattel, the Origins line aims to capture the spirit and design of the original MOTU toy line, which was popular in the 1980s.

The original Masters of the Universe toy line featured a range of action figures, vehicles, and playsets that were based on the animated TV series and other media related to the MOTU universe. The franchise centered around the battle between the heroic He-Man and his allies against the villainous Skeletor and his minions, set in the fantasy world of Eternia.

The Masters of the Universe Origins toy line follows a similar concept, offering action figures that closely resemble the classic designs of the characters while incorporating modern articulation and updated sculpting techniques. This allows collectors and fans to relive the nostalgia of their childhood while also enjoying the benefits of improved action figure technology.

The Origins line includes a variety of characters from the MOTU universe, both heroes and villains, each with their iconic weapons, accessories, and unique features. The line aims to capture the essence of the original characters while appealing to both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise.

In addition to the action figures, the Masters of the Universe Origins toy line may also include playsets, vehicles, and other collectibles that enhance the play and display experience for fans of all ages. The line is known for its vibrant packaging that pays homage to the classic card art of the original toys.

Overall, the Masters of the Universe Origins toy line is a celebration of the beloved MOTU franchise, allowing fans to continue their journey in Eternia with a blend of nostalgia and contemporary design.

It's so awesome seeing all these kickass figures I'll never own due to Mattel's shitty distribution and "collectors" ridiculously high prices!
  • @80sTransfromersFan
Wow, completely flocked! Exposing yet another bad call by Scott Neitlich on the classics toy line. Great vid Dan!

I really debated this due to the price, but I ripped the band-aid off and bought him when I found him at Walmart. The checkout hurt - no doubt - but ever since, I have been incredibly happy that I have him. He sits on my desk and at least once a day I end up picking him up and playing around with him. Such a great figure!
  • @citadelli
My Wal Mart still only has the naked Stratos wave, at full price LOL. I did find a Point Dread though. But whether they will ever get Mossman, I doubt it.

This moss man is a great figure! I waited and waited and found him at Walmart today for only $10.00. Couldn’t believe the score!
  • @sunnyshine2215
A must have figure! He actually looks very similar to the vintage cross sell image
  • @jpblack7988
The only issue i have (besides the price) is if you leave the yellow armor on him too long there will be some ceeasing in the flocking.
  • @msingleton
Mattel knocked it out of the park on this one! $40 is a shame though. Adult collector price instead of kid price. I really want kids to be able to get these amazing toys and hate to see them priced out.
  • Totally Fantastic MOTU Moss Man Figure! The Heavy Detailing is really Incredible. Very Interesting and Informative. Thanks Pixel Dan for sharing!

So flocking cool!!!!! I want to get this. Hopefully I can find him online 🤞. Thanks for the review!
  • Definately need this moss man. Always remember my next door neighbour having him and I always really liked him. So happy for this release. Well done mattel. 👍 😉 GREAT REVIEW AS ALWAYS DUDE. 👍
  • I checked every week for this MossMan from Walmart, empty shelves everytime! It got to the point that I hit up my EBAY app and went hunting, I did find one and ordered it right away .... it came from New Mexico and I live in Massachusetts but I'm happy he's in my collection now! 👍😁

was able to get two of him. loved original moss man as a kid. had to pick him up.
  • @chrisstone5607
I have seen the alt head used on a Man At Arms body, looks great and even more like a different character than just putting it on the flocked body
  • @okcomics1635
Since they usually tease future releases in the packaging...do I smell a Gigantisaurus crowdfund?
  • @max_eesai
The flocking looks like actual moss, it’s a great figure
  • @marcbrunson6986
A friend finally found him and was able to secure me a copy. I really like the Origins version as much as the vintage. More smells like PineSol ha ha, but I'm glad. Stinkor just smells like bad plastic. As a kid, I never had Stinkor, so I could never setup a classic odor fight ha ha. Moss Man's alternate look is like a berserker Moss Man. Great to use for being outnumbered ha ha. I hope Gigantasaurus gets made. I like the extra art on the flaps when you unfold them out. The corner on my mini comic was bent too ha ha. I guess if I was willing to pay what I did for this guy, I'll fork out the 40 bucks to get flocked Panthor. My vintage Moss Man's flocking is about as good as the one you showed.
