No judgement from me about the behavior of the greatest generation. I just appreciate the freedoms I enjoy today that they fought and died for.
  • My uncle was an air gunner in the Royal Canadian Air Force over Germany in WW II. He made it home. RIP Uncle James V. Hollingsworth.
  • A movie that you couldn't stop watching, and was in tears when it was over. Rest in peace to all those brave souls who sacrificed everything for freedom...

The men of the greatest generation! May all who died to preserve our freedom, rest in peace.

My Grandmother (living until 101yo till 2016) helped build these B-17's in the Seattle Boeing Plant. I couldn't be more proud of my families contribution!
  • My father was in the army Air Force I never really knew what he did and went through. Now thanks to this movie I can finally understand. Thanks to the makers of this movie for giving me understanding as to the courage of the crews. My father Leon Keith Cowen is buried in Pampa ,Texas. I hope there is a place in heaven for all our heroes .
  • My grandfather was army on the ground in Germany and my uncle a gunner in a bomber turret. They both made it home. I miss them both everyday. Rest In Peace Pa & Uncle Chuck !!!

Thanks so much to the heroes who flew on these planes during WWII. They are all gone now, even the ones who survived. What heroes !

Fortunate to see this one. The humanity and drive of the B-17 aircrews is realistically portrayed in this amazing film.
  • I gotta tell you, I didn't have high hopes for this movie... Turns out though, I was pleasantly surprised by a really good story, good actors, and pretty darn good air combat/action sequences. I definitely recommend this movie, very enjoyable.
  • I’m a 70yo Veteran and retired Corporate Pilot and I couldn’t imagine what these crews went through during WW2 . They were heroes all. To jump into a B17 or B36 and fly in formation being shot at from the ground and from fighters while trying to reach the target had to be dedication on a scale never seen before or since.
  • My dad was a chin turret (nose) gunner on the B-17G. He did not want to talk about it until he was about 90. I saw his pictures. Finally, he talked for 5 minutes. In gunnery school he became a private pilot, they let him fly the B-17G for fun. He was a great dad. He was a real Christian man and at 92 he went to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus, Son of God.

The scene at the end with the co-pilot and engineer getting ready to bail out is extremely well acted. I've replayed it many times and it affects me every time. These two young actors deserve an award just for that scene.

On Dec. 12, 1941 everyone of my uncles signed up for the military. My step father was a Tank driver and landed on Normandy on D day. May God hold all of these great men, in the palm of his hand for all eternity.

My step dad, Major Dick Stafford, flew B17s over France & Germany, he was the youngest pilot in the 8th AF @ the time & brought his crew thru all their missions. After one dangerous flight over Germany, he landed in England with only a couple engines operating. After landing, his men had to extract him from the cockpit due to cramps. They placed him on the runway in a seated position, on his side, near the wings & a ground crewman threw a wheel chock at one of the damaged engines that he'd inquired about - it just fell off the wing. His team was called the "lucky" crew & the B17 was one of the main reasons for their survival. He was a great dad, now he & my mom are flying together without any engines or wings. 😢

NOW THIS WAS A VERY GOOD MOVIE THAT DESERVES WAY MORE ATTENTION THAN IT HAS BEEN GIVEN!!!
  • Too bad they don’t teach this history in schools anymore. Modern thinking has changed this world for the worst
  • Bomber groups suffered high casualties during the war. The courage of these airmen is astounding.
