Honda brought something truly unique to the pickup truck scene when their mid-size Ridgeline debuted for 2006. In 2017, it moved towards becoming a little more true truck-like, both in form and capability, now with yet another step in that direction for 2024. So, let’s see if the Ridgeline is really hitting its stride.

I’ve had a Tacoma, GM trucks, and this Ridgeline. In all, I’ve done light to average off roading, family roadtrips, and visit shopping malls/outlets. The Ridgeline is our favorite and is built to last. This V6 is a gem and legendary. Kudos and respect to Honda for this feat in engineering.
  • The plastic valve covers have to end. This is the first J35 that I've seen with one. Not only do we have to save the manuals, we need to bring back metals in engines again. At least, they haven't added the 2.0 I4 turbo in the Ridgeline yet. One good thing is that Honda is still using the more expensive and higher quality projector housing in the headlights as opposed to the reflector house that bleeds and annoys incoming traffic.

I must admit the styling took some time to grow on me, but I like it more and more. Even though the Ridgeline was more expensive than some if not all of its competition, it has been profitable. I would prefer a normal shifter, but the interior looks good, and I would consider buying one if I were in the market.

These are all nice updates. But maybe Honda could consider turning the HR-V into a HR-P (mini truck). It could give the Maverick some friendly competition and us a cheap alternative.

Honda dropped the ball by not giving their Trailsport models 9” of ground clearance like the Subaru Wilderness models. Ridgeline is great, just too low to ground for any rough roads.

So weird to see a Honda badge on a pick-up truck.

Wonder if the skid plates will be an Alacarte option on models with proper road tires and braking distances.
  • This is becoming a competitive segment , VW should bring the Amarok to North America ....

Awesome trucks made in America by Americans for Americans

8 years old.. come on Honda. Do better.

Honestly, it's a $50k truck, which i think is a bit steep. But i do like it's practicality, ergonomics, and the fact it's powered by a na V6; besides the Frontier, all other midsized trucks are veering towards inline fours. Not a bad option, for a truck, if you don't need to tow heavy or often.

I like the concept but it is so damn ugly.
