There maybe many factors but BTS was the real-gamechanger as K-pop back then used to be known by very selected global fans or mostly Asia, but BTS really brought it into Mainstream Global Media. Huge credit goes to their fans.

Having lived there for 3 months in Seoul in 2022, I can comfortably say that South Korea is far ahead.. one could freely walk at 1am, world class transportation .. amazing people.. They just embrace their culture .
