When the intrepid vessel returned from its odyssey across the Delta Quadrant, it did so to a fanfare and celebration, but what happened after the series ended? Where did the crew go and what did these characters get up to? Let's look at some apocrypha and the canon to see what answers we have, from Prodigy's Protostar to the Handshake Tours of Lower Decks.

I think the last episode of Voyager ended far too abruptly. They could’ve made a lot more out of the crew getting back to the Alpha Quadrant & being reunited with their loved ones, debriefing with Starfleet etc. Considering that was their ultimate mission for the entire series. It was almost like it was an after thought.

It really says something about Harry's situation when I genuinely didn't know if you were kidding when you said he got sent back to the academy lol

I am still mad about what happened to Icheb. That was so heartbreaking to see. Always loved his character and I wish he had been developed more. I also wish the Borg girl child had stayed onboard, to continue her friendships with Icheb and Naomi. As for Naomi, I love imaging her having to deal with sporadic Tribble outbreaks on K7. But back to Icheb, Q Junior owed him at least one favor. Could have easily kept an eye on his wellbeing and saved his life at least once. Or at the very least ease his suffering... he didn't deserve such a tortuous death.

I did not expect Harry to get busted down to cadet after all those years, what a twist =D

I always imagined Chakotay retiring. Attempting to reconnect with his people and carve out a new life. I can see him being someone that still has connections to Starfleet and his renown grants him certain sway enabling him to go on an adventure or appear in one. Chakotay upon returning home realises that he doesn't really have one.

The autobiography of Kathryn Janeway hints at the celebrity status of the crew after returning from the Delta Quadrant. Harry, Tom and Chakotay has to wear fake beards, hats, sunglasses etc. Tuvok immediately return to Vulcan so he could be with his family. Seven of Nine headed up the Borg division of Starfleet where along with the Doctor she develop a implant that stopped assimilation. The Doctor's mobile emitter was successfully replicated by Starfleet engineering and install in all EMH programs allowing the EMH to leave sickbay efficiently giving a starship two Doctor's

I'm still flummoxed on how Seven and Chakotey ended up an item. Respected coleagues fine? Friends? Sure. However there was never any chemistry there and he seemed more like a natural pair with Janeway while Seven and The Doctor seemed to continually hit it off. Maybe not romantically but. That pair just leaves me scratching my head on what they were on.

Even if it was a joke, I'm taking Harry Kim remaining an Ensign until he's 81 years old as canon :P I would love to see him show up on Lower Decks, still as Admiral Janeway's "assistant", and still an ensign. Mariner: Forever-Ensign Harry Kim! My Hero! Kim: ... thanks.

This gave me a warm fuzzy learning that most of the crew, especially the ones from the first three seasons, had good outcomes after the ship arrived back on Earth. Thanks for doing the research and letting us know what you found.

I always liked how Elite Force 2 had Tuvok eventually succeed Worf/Tasha's role on the Enterprise Probably gave Picard some serious Starship Mine Deja Vu. :P
  • I wish we would have had a Riker series after Voyager. It would have been the perfect vehicle to tie up all the loose threads from TNG, DS9 and Voyager.

If memory serves, Seven of Nine was supposed to make a cameo appearance in Star Trek Nemesis as Admiral Janeway's adjutant. If accurate it would suggest that Seven received a Starfleet officers commission. In Alpha canon it is stated that once Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant it was converted into a Museum to exhibit the discoveries the crew made in on their journey home. If this is the case it's likely that the crew went on to serve on another vessel, perhaps a new Intrepid class straight out of Utopia Planitia christened USS Voyager NCC-74656-A.

I never understood how Harry was an ensign the entire run of the show. However, Tom was a lieutenant. Busted down to ensign again and then got lieutenant back before the end of the show. Also what happened to the remaining crew of the Equinox that had been absorbed into Voyagers crew? They had been busted down to crewmen. I wonder if they had been pardoned due to the circumstances they had to survive in?

Funny part is that Tom Paris was originally supposed to be Nick Lacarno from the TNG episode “The first duty”, that’s why they had the same actor playing him. After finding out that they’d have to pay the original creator of the Lacarno character every time is first or last name was used, they decided to make him an original character. The actor (Robert Duncan McNeill) even said he knew about it, and was upset they changed the character. He said he tried to talk them into a reveal at the very end that he had been Lacarno all along, and his fake name/story was just a cover so the people on the ship wouldn’t blackball him for being responsible for the death of a cadet and cover up, but they denied his request.

I wanted Icheb and Naomi to become a couple like they were in Shattered. Both were great characters on the show to be fair.
  • @RageousMode
Vorik's fate is all I cared about, just as Morn's in DS9
  • I was gutted when the series ended, especially when we didn’t really get a chance to see how the crew adapted to being home and reintegrating into Star Fleet on Earth.

Wouldn't The Doctor's mobile emitter be held in quarantine with other futuristic tech since it came from the 29th century?
  • @ryanconrad2786
'Seven of Nine's relationship with Chakotay doesn't work out...' Which most fans are fine with as it was once voted the WORST on screen relationship on TV at the time.
  • Wonderful information. It was about time getting to see what happened to them after all the problems they had leaving the delta quandrant!!!
