The dimishing returns are real, and you have to spend really big money to get something that will be meaningfully better.
So dont watch the video, just look for good price on them (like open box of refurb deals on official Hifiman store).

I read a lot how good hifiman combo units match with their HP. Speaking about Dacs, they have it R2R . Will be interesting to gear your comparison on akm/ess/r2r dac:) Also fiio released k11 new combo unit with r2r dac for quite affordable price.
