The reason I’m leaning towards minimalism is specifically to make cleaning easier

To anyone who struggles with cleaning and often feels overwhelmed/can't keep up, even after receiving all the standard advice of "take it 1 step at a time, do it in parts" etc. Investing in a robot vacuum has literally been such a game changer. As someone who used to sweep & vacuum over 3x/week, my friends got me a robot vacuum for Christmas. It helps so much with pets, and acts as a motivator to tidy up my clutter so that the robot can navigate my space. You don't even have to get a name-brand one, there's some out there for $100 or so that work great :)

I’m a 23 yr old getting used to cleaning my own space after growing up with parents who don’t clean very much, this is very useful :))

I love that you didn't use a bunch of disposable cleaning products. So many cleaning videos are chock-full of disposable wipes, paper towels, swiffers, etc. It's so refreshing watching someone demonstrating that you don't need all that waste to clean and have a clean home.

One thing I do for really old, sticky oil (like on range hood) is to rub it with some fresh cooking oil and then wash that off. The sticky, rancid oil breaks down and mixes with the new oil (like dissolves like) and then the fresh oil is easier to clean off with soapy water.

Just a tip for everyone, mixing baking soda and vinegar does nothing to help clean. Mixing them together neutralizes it, which is the foaming you’ll see happen. Both are great for cleaning but preferably used separately.

This video is so cozy and helpful! My parents never really cleaned and never taught me how to, let alone how to deep clean. Ive always wanted a clean house but ive always felt so overwhelmed and lost. This video has been a live saver! I feel happy and proud over the state of my kitchen for the first time in my life
  • I watched 1:17 min of this video, ran downstairs and made the baking soda vinegar mixture, ran upstairs, scrubbed the washer, started a clean cycle, and ran back downstairs to finish this video hahaha great inspiration to clean 🤩
  • @nina_park
Omg this is so timely, I spent hours cleaning/vacuuming/mopping yesterday (we have 2 cats) and it still doesn’t feel like enough 😭
  • @atinydiane
This is great - some really good ideas here - I just wanted to note that where I live (Toronto) most apartment and condo buildings do NOT allow you to sweep any dirt over the side of your balcony, or especially dump water so it pours over the edge (!), because then it just all ends up on your downstairs neighbours’ balconies, or even all down the side of the building. So although doing that feels satisfying for your own cleaning, it’s better to sweep into a dustbin and throw it away, and mop with a bucket in such a way that the water isn’t pooling over the edge, but just using enough water to clean your own space.
  • I’m chronically ill and disabled so cleaning is so difficult for me, unfortunately I just found out I have carpet beetles so I’m trying my best to do the best clean I’ve ever done. Loading up stuff to watch on YT to keep me motivated and I got suggested this video, what lovely timing! Thank you so much, I wish schools taught kids this stuff
  • Just a warning for you guys about using lemons in your garbage disposal! Even sliced into thin slices, it will eventually clog the disposal and you will have to manually clean it out - icky job. Vinegar is good enough! This doesn’t detract from the rest of the video, I loved it, it’s so helpful and such a serene vibe. Thanks for sharing your cleaning tips with us🥰
  • @Sunethrae
there’s nothing more satisfying that watch someone clean and organise their living space💕
  • @BlackCoffeeee
Listening to a good audiobook with headphones has completely changed my cleaning game. It gets me in the zone to clean and take my time.
  • @milkiebun9193
Krist, we really appreciate your hardwork! You actually deep clean your house while filming for us <3 thank you!
  • @joshow926
Lovely! Also nice to see the actual dirt before you clean as it makes me feel better about how some places in my house get, haha. Some people's cleaning videos feature spaces that look pretty spotless already and you don't see much difference, so this video was really nice to watch. I couldn't dedicate a whole week to this level of cleaning, but I'm hoping to deep clean/declutter at least one room/space a month in addition to regular daily/weekly cleaning. :)
  • @amyisaway7800
i love that you actually show the dirt!!! and that you use minimal products without being preachy about it!! although this isn't exactly realistic for me right now (doing a masters degree when some days just getting out of bed is an achievement) i am definitely going to take tips!!
  • @SometimeAgo65
When I use to do deep cleaning, or seasonal cleaning, I would do one room a day. Sometime it could take two days to finish an entire room but that's cleaning from ceiling, walls, floor and everything else in the room. Now due to health issues, I hire someone to do these things. I love a clean, fresh, decorated, comfy home
