Imagine an opponent so formidable that the only way to beat them is to run or make sure they never existed
  • This is one of the few times the villains are better in the movie than in the comics. In the comics, the Sentinels were cannon fodder and rather easily destroyed. But here they are nightmare fuel.

How to make villains scary? Make them logically effective

The Sentinels are perhaps the most impressive enemy robots I have ever seen in movies. Certainly more threatening by far than the Ultron bots or Terminators. Every action they take is performed with such an economy of movement, with no wasted energy. Really succeeds in giving the impression that they are perfected killing machines.

They did such an amazing job displaying the Sentinel’s devastation and aura. You can feel the disparity of the X-Men from the start to their gradual elimination.

I love how they're giving it their all. Especially Sunspot when he screams as he's trying his hardest . Gives me chills

There's such a sense of dread when the sentinels are present. The soundtrack captures that ominous feeling perfectly. Even their ships are in the shape of a coffin. It's a very clever way to set the scene.

Sometimes I watch this scene just because of the chills it gives me, the way the sentinels silently stalk the heroes and then go god mode and tear them to shreds. Epic
  • @lsabelline
Damn…imagine if they made Ultron this menacing.
  • @flyawaytodie
This movie was so excellent. Makes you wonder how on earth Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix turned out so awful.
  • First time I notice that Sentinel ripping the arm off of colossus and that it's punch actually crushed his head, you can see the relief of it's hand on Colossus' head after. Awesome and absolutely brutal
  • They don't say a word, and they were the scariest villains in the X-Men movies.
  • @Nyij
Dude these scene were and still are bone chilling. Brutal, scary, badass. What a movie.

Something i didnt realize, the sentinels are *prioritizing*. They ignore some mutants for a time being so they can get the most powerful ones in the vicinity. These things arent just slaughtering people, their neutralizing threats.
  • @FCChelsea91
This part honestly terrified me when I watched it the first time. And now actually. I can see and feel the despair and the this-is-our-last-stand attitude that they all have knowing they are trying desperately to delay the inevitable.
  • @Incepter.
Those sentinels are way too OP especially that power to adapt to their power, and the fact there are thousands of them like that is the maker of nightmares
  • @dacronic1646
This is by far the best of the X-Men movies. As good as the top MCU movies.
  • @dannywang4543
Best movie ever. The sentinels were truly an unstoppable threat.
  • @UrvineSpiegel
0:20 They didn't even drop all of the sentinels That is how disturbingly powerful they are This is the bulk of the mutant resistance. Meh, lets just drop 3 dudes then go for lunch
