Seattle is so much more than the Seahawks, Cruise Ships, the Space Needle, Starbucks, and Pike Place Market.
If you ever get a chance to visit this amazing American city, you really should. Seattle would love to have you for a visit.

I live in Seattle. Everybody always talks about the rain, but you seldomly hear about how dark🕶️ it gets here. It's a special kind of dark. You have the thick grey clouds totally blocking out any trace of moon or starlight. Then, there is the constant all night drizzle in the air. Sometimes accompanied by fog coming off the Sound. Then you have the giant evergreen trees everywhere. Now take all these factors & add in 40mph, 50mph sometimes 60mph wind gusts💨 whipping through all those evergreens trees at night. It creates this unique, ominous freight train sound that's like the soundtrack to the darkness. I love it!! I feel alive!...Until the power⚡ goes out😞
  • When I grew up in Washington. They had a saying.... You will see a lot of things everyday in Seattle The sun isn't one of them.
  • @CityGeek
The combination of Mt. Rainer, the skyline and the puget sound make Seattle the most visually beautiful city in the country | Change my mind

Born there and worked in Seattle for 27 years after military service, as a sanitation engineer☺ seen it all. I've called Seattle an insane asylum run by the inmates.

I live in the Pacific Northwest for 5yrs (Tacoma) crime is very low. I'm from New Orleans it's a big difference.
  • Do not move here! I moved back after separating from the military and found that the decay taking place in Seattle has sped up dramatically. Needles are frequently found on kids playgrounds, violent offenders don’t get arrested when they commit assault (even on elderly folks) and squatter laws make it easy for drug addicts to make your back yard their home. This unfortunately is not just a Seattle problem however, as the issues I’ve just mentioned are prevalent all along I-5. Olympia, Tacoma and federal way have seen increasing levels of violent crime and beurocracy that allows it to continue.

There are “tent cities” all over the place; under freeways, at exits, in parks and in many of the surrounding cities. I live in Tacoma and homeless people sleeping at the entrance to this apartment complex. Housing is SO expensive here….

There is a jazz musician from Seattle, Kenneth Gorelick. Of course everyone calls him Kenny G.
  • @TheGeoScholar
It is also the northernmost major American city with a population of 500,000+ people.
  • @katiegray14
We ask ourselves this question every day 😂

The homeless problem in Seattle is horrific. You obviously didn't take a walk around Greenlake.
  • @russfinley4128
Violent crime is also up 40%, and theft is so common most of us don't report it anymore. Over the last year, three of my neighbors have been burglarized, two of them twice. Some of my neighbors are thinking of moving, so, housing should start opening up soon for all of you who want to join the party.
  • Hey Briggs, you are the best my man, great job you are doing, love these.
  • Seattle has a history of serial killers. You should do a serial killer show

I found this video very interesting. I am 54 years old and grew up in Shoreline but moved to Florida, where I lived for twenty years. I moved back here five years ago and am now living in Capitol Hill. As soon as my health is better I plan on moving back to Florida! The homelessness and rampant drug use in public absolutely blows my mind! I don't leave my home after dark in Capitol Hill. I do agree that the views of Mount Rainier and the Cascades on a sunny day are beautiful, but I can satisfy myself by looking at a postcard. Seattle now is not the Seattle I knew growing up in the 70s, and even the 80s.

Time to update the Seattle-scape images. The city looks totally different now.
  • @JBishop25
LOVE the Mother Love Bone reference. They were around for a cup of coffee but their stuff was awesome. Excellent exposure in Singles. Great call out, Briggs.
