So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village(s) of Eastleach, which is located in the county of Gloucestershire. Eastleach has a population of over 300.

Eastleach is a bit of an unusual one as essentially there are two villages (Eastleach Turville & Eastleach Martin) which are divided by the River Leach. Two stone bridges were built to provide access to each village. One bridge is a road bridge and the other a clapper bridge. The clapper bridge is called the Keble Bridge as it was named after a local curate of St. Michael & St. Martin in Eastleach Martin, who was also the founder of a Sunday School. The Church of St. Andrew sits just across the river in Eastleach Turville, bizarrely the two churches almost face each other. This might just be the first time we have visited two churches during a single walk.

Eastleach Turville is the bigger of the two villages which has a public house called the Victoria Inn. It was in 1935 that the two villages were amalgamated into one civil paraish. In Eastleach there are many listed buildings.

There are no hidden OAAW logos in this video, however see if you can spot two wild rabbits gleefully playing.

Thanks for walking with me.

I love how the gardens and greenery is slightly overgrown its much better for wildlife that way instead of being perfectly manicured

This was a glorious walk. I felt like I was actually walking. Thank you for no annoying music and actually no talking. Not necessary at all. This was very peaceful and I hope to walk with you again.
  • I have always wanted to visit England. I was told by a English lady many years ago, that one of the best Villages to visit would be Coltswald. I found my visit now. I am visiting this beautiful village and I feel so blessed to see and hear one of the most awesome places that God and a little help by man. Thank you for the trip. I’m 80 years young and have had my dream come true. 🌷

  • Ahh soooo tranquil, not many have this on their doorstep anymore. This is truely England......very important to keep the crowds away. May this little village retain it's beauty......

Oh, I'm so thankful to hear just birds and a person walking. The silence, the greenery and the homes feel truly timeless.

Wow, I'm from England but now live in Japan, the coo'ing of the wood pidgeons instantly takes me back.

Beautiful village-Whoever lives in those large houses must be quite wealthy- I wish I could afford to live there in such a beautiful place…

I grew up on the Isle Of Wight in the seventies, and there were small villages & hamlets that were very similar to this in many ways. The poorer natives still owned their stone cottages & were able to sustain themselves at that time. My neighbours had a 15th century stone cottage & were often unemployed. It was a beautiful place to grow up, but it would be impossible today. The natives are all gone and wealthy folk have taken over everything. That does not take the beauty away from this upload, but it is tough when you've watched similar places undergo such radical changes. Reminds me of James Herriot's Yorkshire.
