Teofimo Lopez will defend his WBO and Ring Magazine junior welterweight world titles against Canadian contender Steve Claggett on Saturday, June 29, at James L. Knight Center in Downtown Miami, Florida.
In the 10-round featherweight co-feature, Cuban former WBO world champion Robeisy Ramirez returns against Mexico’s Brandon Leon Benitez.
The six-round televised opener sees middleweight prospect Nico Ali Walsh attempt to avenge his only pro defeat in a rematch against Sona Akale.

As a fan of both, i believe Teo took that 10th round, and obviously the 12th round in the 2nd half of the fight. But the fact that Loma turned it on in the 2nd half was amazing beautiful boxing display from both boxers!

Loma's giving away the first half of this fight has also been triggered by the fear of getting knocked out cold by Lopez's twitching hooks which he demonstrated in his previous fights leading to this one. The strategy fails as Lopez shows up his impeccable stamina n dangerous counters when Loma launches his ferocious n tenacious attack in the second half of the fight to force Lopez to quit on his stool. Lopez prevails n Loma cries like kid after the embarrassing loss.

Loma too small for the weight and teo too big for the weight. But a great fight none the less. They proved they were both great. But there should’ve been a rematch. Lomas fault for not putting it in the clause. And then everyone who touched those unified titles became a diva.

Giving away the first 6 rounds of a huge fight of this level has been a fatal mistake for Loma. His plan to launch a ferocious n tenacious attack in the second half of the fight to force Lopez to quit on stool just doesn't work as planned as Lopez still has what it takes to counter n shake Loma with his twitchy counters. So the first half the fight totally goes to Lopez n the second half is shared by both sides. Loma's fight plan, strategy n tactic, fails shamefully. Not to mention his sour losing kid-like cries after the fight. Shame on Loma.
