BANG!

I get up I get down
And I’m jumping around
And the rumpus and ruckus are comfortable now
Been a hell of a ride
But I’m thinking it’s time to grow

So I got an apartment
Across from the park
Put quinoa in my fridge
Still I’m not feeling grown
Been a hell of a ride
But I’m thinking it’s time to go
(Here we go)

So put your best face on everybody
Pretend you know this song everybody
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang

I’m way too young to lie here forever
I’m way too old to try so whatever
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang

Feel like I’m gonna puke
Cause my taxes are due
Do my password begin with a one or a two?
Been a hell of a ride
But I’m thinking it’s time to grow
(Metronome)

Man I'm up to something
Oo-dee-la-dee-doe
Thank you all for coming
I hope you like the show
Cause it’s on a budget
So oo-dee-la-dee-doe
Yeah come on here we go
Yeah come on
(Here we go)

So put your best face on everybody
Pretend you know this song everybody
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang

I’m way too young to lie here forever
I’m way too old to try so whatever
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang

Been a hell of a ride
But I’m thinking it’s time to go

So put your best face on everybody
Pretend you know this song everybody
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang

I’m way too young to lie here forever
I’m way too old to try so whatever
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang

The voice of the song that announces "Here we go!" and "Metronome!" is Charlie Pellett, best known for voicing the New York City Subway.

Three years later and its still a BANGer.
  • AJR: Literally any word that has existed in the lyrics of their other songs Me: "That's got to be an easter egg"

AJR: Pretend you know this song everybody Me, lipsyncing on my first listen: Way ahead of you buddy
  • the fact that the most rewinded part is the naked part is absolutely criminal lol
  • I found this song in 2020 when I was pregnant with my 3rd child. No job. No car. No money. My boyfriend hauled me and our children off to my mothers house, once again. He had broken my heart SO many times. I kept going back. 2 years later I left. With nothing for myself. I got a job. I got my driver's license. I got my own place. ALL with the help of absolutely no one. 2020 me would never believe what I have accomplished. When I drive home from my job, in my car, and this song comes on, it feels so good.

“Hope you enjoyed the show it’s on a budget” That set begs to differ
  • AJR: Let’s go out with a bang! Me screaming from the rooftops: Don’t you go! We need you here!

One of the best coronavirus lockdown songs. When the world was fucked up this was on the radio and helped everything seem more normal. The nostalgia of this song, for me, will always be tied to that first lockdown
  • Director: So how many camera zooms do you want? AJR: Yes
  • "Pretend you know this song" Me every 10 seconds: BANG BANG BANG 😀
  • Thank you, Roaring Kitty, for introducing me to this jam! Let's go out with a BANG!
  • AJR: It's been a hell of a ride and I think that it's time to go ME: ARe yoU BrEAkiNg uP WitH Me
  • For those who don’t already know the “here we go” is Charlie Pellet the voice of the NYC Subway “stand clear of the closing doors”.

This song is honestly the last regular memory I had before covid. I was in middle school sitting at lunch with my friends, and we all watched it on my small phone screen. A couple days later, we tried to buy concert tickets, but we didn't have enough, so we planned to save over the summer. It's honestly crazy to believe that it all happened just a few weeks before the world just stopped.
