The problem is people have trouble separating the concepts of "hard" and "important" in their mind. My mom was a stay at home mom and I'm very grateful for that. But if staying home with your own flesh and blood is the hardest thing you can imagine, you had no business being a parent in the first place. Making time to spend with your spouse is also important, much more important than spending that hour at work. Does that mean that having a romantic dinner on your anniversary is *hard*? No.

I was a railroader and widower. My sons were ages 7 and 11 when their mother past away. They raised me on Black Sabbath and grunge rock. 10 years later. They gave me a Mother's Day Card. Inside this note. " Mom would be proud of you".

Amen brother. Being a mom is the same as a stay at home dad. You feed, you cook, you clean, and you still did way less work than someone with an actual job.
