From 2008-2010 Kobe Bryant beat more 50+ win teams than Magic Johnson did during his entire 13 year career with the Lakers including a 59 win Orlando Magic Team that had the #1 defense in the NBA led by Dwight Howard. Kobe's playoff runs aren't mentioned enough by mainstream media outlets.

That 3 year run from β€˜07-β€˜10 was insane. My favorite player ever. The greatest artist in the history of the game. A Picasso on the court. Beautiful game to watch. Never cheated the game and puts on a show for the fans and ALWAYS played to win.

This video shows a real representation of Kobe's entire game. He wasn't just a scorer. He was a great passer, great facilitator, a great leader, a great defensive player, a coach on the court, and his knowledge of the game was as vast, and extensive as anyone could ever get at their profession of choice. He understood the flow of the game itself. That's why he could miss his first 6 or 7 shots in the first half, not sweating it at all, and then hit 9 of his next 10 shots when it really mattered in the second half, and the 4th quarter. All Kobe cared about was keeping the game within reach to have a chance to win at the end, or trying to keep a lead. He knew that the first 3 quarters of the game mean little as long as the game is within 10 points or less going into the 4th quarter. Kobe would often use the first half of competitive games to download information on what he could get away with against certain matchups, and defensive rotations, then he would come out and turn up the dial against his opponents during the second half. There were also a lot of games where Kobe was so dominant offensively from the start that he wouldn't even play the 4th quarter if the Lakers were ahead big on the scoreboard. That 81 point game was not an anomally. Kobe could have had 4 or 5 80 point games in his career, but he didn't care about stats. He only cared about winning the game, and winning championships. Kobe was a basketball genius. He could turn his scoring on and off almost at will, and even in the rare cases when his shot wasn't falling, he would effect the game in so many different ways that he could still be the most impactful player on the court. That's why he had 5 rings, and that's why Kobe is far better than any player since MJ left the Bulls in retirement in 1998/1999. Nobody has met that standard that MJ set for the Guard/SF positions other than Kobe Bryant.
  • Rip to the Greatest to ever touch a basketball 😒❀ Kobe Bryant is the reason why I picked a basketball and started to love and play the game we all love to this very day thank you Kobe Bryant for inspiring and impacting the whole world and the youth

So many parts of his game are underrated. Particularly playmaking
  • His game was so complete. The man had no major weaknesses at his peak. But what really surprised me is just how good of a passer/playmaker he was.
  • @koolkai4299
This was such a criminally underrated run.
  • @SSJRome
My favorite playoff run to re watch every now and then. That game 4 vs Utah was so cold blooded πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
  • @AllLocksNoCap
the whole 2009 playoffs was my favorite.. take me back please
  • @invincible0463
Look at kobes playmaking, most underated passer and playmaker ever. The way they talk like he was a pure iso player is a complete casual lie
  • @MonstarCave
The way this video opens feels like a dream, Kobe was so special man....always gonna be my favorite player of all time.
  • As a grown man, the pleasure and motivation I get from watching Kobe Bryant (and reading anything related to him) is truly hard to explain. So much philosophy and wisdom wrapped behind that savage intensity and unbreakable will. He was fucking special. No joke.
  • @GiriRam
Any other superstar had championship level supporting cast around them during the prime years, but Kobe was stuck with a rebuilding team during his prime and still won 5! To me, he is the most talented and most skilled player to ever grace the court. So humble off the court that he always paid respect to the past but on the court he let his work do the talking.
  • In 2009, Kobe was at the peak of his career before slowly declining from 2009 to 2013. Phil Jackson mentioned in his book (11 Rings And The Soul Of Success) that the 2009-2010 season was much tougher than the 2007-2008 or the 2008-09 as Kobe began aging, this implying his decline. 2009 was redemption as he won his title without Shaq. Defeating the Celtics the year after was for me the sweetest victory as they are the Lakers' eternal rivals.
  • @NoName718.
He was bouncing that ball hard as sh*t. That 08 Loss put a chip on his shoulder.
  • @lioninthesun
Kobes back to back are the most impressive of any player. Lebron and kds aren’t comparable. Only the dream can look him in the eyes off his back to back
  • @Rixx432
Kobe was insane and the team was fantastic too during these times
