  • At 4:53 Chricton kicks straight into the arms of Cobbo and is held back by Brisbane defenders. Watch the work from Scott Sorrenson, he quickly plugs the gap where Chrichton would have been defending, Cobbo looks up sees him, hesitates and Crichton is able to recover and make the tackle. Its the 73rd minute, Sorrenson is fatigued but makes the effort to be there, if he isn't Cobbo probably runs 90ms and scores game over. It's efforts like this that make Penrith a champion team.

The moment Cleary broke through and setup Leota, he became possessed. What an incredible performance from him, the 40/20, catching Reynolds drop out on the full, converts Crichtons try and scores the winner himself. Immortal
  • Fantastic performance by the referee in this game. Light touch meant a fast game, major drama, and hardly noticed him. Great job

I can't believe the result. Imagine being Scottie Pippen and this is your first game of Rugby League.
  • Nathan Cleary deservedly Churchill winner , but Stephen Crichton was the man in this final 10. Without him they just wouldnt have got there.

Probably the best refed GF ever, just let the game flow & didn`t let players trying to pull the wool over his eyes with fake injuries !!

I wish Rabs was commentating this GF. Would have made it all the more special imo. Mat Thompson has improved in recent years, I’ll give him that. But I still would have loved to hear the voice of rugby league call this historic game.

Nathan Cleary 2 try assist 1 try 4/4 goal conversion ( 1 from sideline Crichton try ) that is an immortal performance
  • Still in shock and disbelief. One of the greatest Grand Finals I've ever seen, up there with 2015. That final Cleary try will be remembered as one of the most heartstopping and amazing moments.

I’m not even a Penrith supporter but I’ve seen the highlights heaps of times. Total feel good factor with this 👍👍
  • Penrith Panther, the on going dream team. The Panthers enduring culture prevails, absolutely awesome.

I knew Penrith were not done when the Broncos were up 14 points. My son was celebrating, and I said, it's not over yet son.

In the 80s Penrith we’re called Chocolate Soldiers & laughed at Gus Gould looked to the juniors & the set up he said this will take 20 years for it to pay off then began to set up the structure you have to day & for passionate locals they needed this & got it Cleary Father & Son deserve all the respect they are such wonderful people & to Gus Gould Thanx

Reece Walsh was completely unprepared for that play,he could've gone to the blindside when the play was directed there like the 3 people on his right. He just switched off. In the only time that your whole career has built up to the moment where you show what you're made of , and he absolute crumbled. Big lesson learnt.

What a sport Rugby League is ❤
  • @Eddey_Dancer
It was great to see that Penrith wore their 2003 Grand Final winning SANYO jersey, exactly 20 years later...
  • Adam gee was a great referee too .. everybody was perfect in this match thank for this epic final ..3 in a row ❤❤❤
  • Still don’t get how other fans think that the nrl favour Penrith. One of the smaller market, suburban teams in the comp along side Cronulla. They also don’t have prestige that the dragons, or bunnies have. If anything the nrl would be cheering on for a Bronx win in an economic and business sense. 37k memberships, the only team in the second biggest nrl city, growing population due to upcoming olympics. But again as they say, rugby league is a simple and working man’s game
  • @gracesaulog
Close to the greatest Grand Final I've ever seen. 1997, 2003, 2015 and 2016 were all amazing, but this is just about the best of the lot, and I'm a St George fan. Super happy that a great NSW team like Penrith won it all.
  • That moment was huge when Staggs tried to milk a penalty for a crusher tackle; could have turned the game. Kick for touch and Brisbane attacking the Panthers line in the final moments. Big ups to referee Gee for not falling for it. Get up and play the ball pal 👏🏻👏🏻
