Historical hair oiling grew my own hair from chin length to tailbone length, and today we are trying it on Edyta’s straight blonde hair as a masque to see what happens!

Historical hair oiling (in various forms) has been used all around the world for as long as we can tell, and it is a time-tested way to grow longer, thicker, and healthier hair. I am now selling my own hair oil blend that I have been using different iterations of for many years, and I have spent the past several months refining and perfecting it. But whether you use my herbal hair oil blend, or just a bottle of olive oil from your kitchen, the benefits of regular hair oiling are enormous.

  • Please do more hair videos with the straight hair! Also would love to see the clay wash on her hair
  • @jennifers1977
I’m not sure how it’s possible, but you doing her hair, makes me feel like you’re doing mine and it’s so calming
  • @anahills3836
When I was a child, I lived in Mexico. Many of the people there would put coconut oil on their hair to make it lovely and shiny. It also helped hold their braids together.

In India we oil babies' bodies and hair... some of us oil our hair every week and we call it "champi" (massage) which is where the word shampoo comes from! My grandmother made a wonderful infused oil of curry leaves and hibiscus 🌺 flower, which smells sharp (I love the smell) but is so good for hair growth.
  • @RenaissanceASMR
Katherine's videos are the perfect example of unintentional ASMR: her voice is so sweet and relaxing and of course the hair play and combing/brushing sound is magical
  • @lynneeie5226
Voting yes for more demos with clay washing please. This was lovely to see, thank you both!
  • Wonderfully bonding - it’d be great to bring back for physical & mental health in our current rushed society.
  • @annette.1030
I love that you feature Edyta - those from around the Baltic Sea have some of the finest hair in the world and we need A LOT of help for protective styles to prevent breakage. Thank you and bless you!
  • In modern day India they commonly use mustard oil. I live there half the year since 2017. I was very surprised it was typically being used for oiling. And… all the places I’ve traveled, they use a LOT of oil, soaking the hair (men and women)—Once a week, and keep in overnight. Now, of course this practice varies across India. Almond oil is also used but finding a pure source is very difficult! Spices and herbs are also added of all kinds depending on region of the country. Curry leaves are also common all over the country.

I bet that nuns' secret oil ingredient, includes rosemary, because I make my own hair oil using olive oil, rosemary and garlic, and it helped with growing my hair out. I even have new hair follicles. Rosemary is used and grown in convents, so it is a possible ingredient. 🤔
  • @StacyD1299
My husband says the oil I make smells like celery 😂 but i dont care, it works wonderfully, my hair has never been so thick and healthy.
  • I once put coconut oil from a jar on my hair and warmed it with a hair dryer , my hair was the softest smoothest it had ever been , my young grandson could not stop touching it , it was bleached and dry before
  • I've always been curious about hair oiling techniques from different cultures. Your detailed explanation of the benefits and method makes it seem so practical and rejuvenating. It's inspiring to see traditional practices like this being revived. Thanks for sharing your herbal hair growth oil blend – sounds like a real gem!
  • Yes pls for more straight hair videos! Awesome SIL and wonderful model. Thanks to both of you ladies ans congrats on getting your oil bottled for market!
  • I have very thick, but very fine hair strands. I have been doing historical hair care as well for the past seven years now. I could never get my hair past lowest point of my mid back and its now almost hip length, still thick, stronger and softer. My ends used to get really dry, but four small drops of almond oil every other day on the ends helps it bounce back. Im starting to di the very light daily henna, rosemary, alma oil. My daighter has fine, and thinner hair than myself and she's 8 with hair strong, soft gair down to her bum snd still growing. She insists that i ONLY trim it, no significant cutting until she is 13. We live in an area with humid hod summers and dry cold winters in the US Midwest and folks are always impressed with our long, healthy hair. It's such a bonding moment when i wash my daughter's hair and do detangling and brushing as well as oil treatments. I dont fuss too much with her developing hair, and the natural hair care has really helped the both of us. My father took her when she was 4 years old and got her hair cut to lower shoulder blade length (he asked her if she wanted a hair cut and she had agreed at that time and got my permission as well ❤❤ he was a good Grandpa, whom is no longer with us),and in four years her hair has grown so much.

Okayyy, I definitely used way too much Jojoba oil when I tried following your earlier video. My hair is similar to Edyta's hair and it helped to see the oil application on her. A clay washing demo would be great! I'll check out your new hair oil! Thanks!
  • @treetop6877
Cool to see you using a different hair type but your hair looks so lovely! Would love an updated video on your hair routine. Or a demo on your sister with 4c hair (same as me). I love your videos so much! Thanks a lot ❤❤❤
  • @pkirkey6932
I’m getting sleepy just watching and I’m only 8 minutes in. I did the dry shampoo from your last video and my hair still feels clean with a daily scalp massage followed by a light brushing. I don’t know when I’ll actually need to wet it again. I’ve been a bit concerned about developing a funky odour but hubby assures me my hair still smells nice. I used lavender and frankincense EO in the powder. Also, there was no need to worry about the cocoa powder discolouring my fair hair. I’m so thankful for all of your great hair care tips.
  • Your voice is so calming. Thank you for making this video. I lost my hair to cancer and now it's growing back and I'm learning from your videos how to take better care of my hair and give myself love and care. I love the history and information you provide in your videos as well.
