  • Caitlin IS pretty! No, she's not the most beautiful girl in the world, but she was not intended to be. She is what she is...VERY pleasant looking and wonderful human being. We love you Caitlin!
  • I really think when Clark beat SC in the semi's least year she became the Michael Jordan of women's BB. Rings or not, you can't argue with her popularity and ability to sell out arenas, which for a sport that had little relevancy before her, is more important than rings IMO

well put together argument and breakdown, you have my sub

I agree with most of your points except one. And I have a comment on another one of your points. 1- The GOAT - first let me start with this, I do not watch enough womens basketball to be qualified to say who the GOAT is (I don’t even believe in the concept in general I’m a Mt Rushmore guy) With that said I question the logic some have with the rings argument. If you have a player on one side who (just keeping to this topic) is playing with 7-8 players who are projected to go to the WNBA vs the other playing with only one that has a slight chance how do you weigh both of their team impact the same? I always ask the question of if either player’s circumstances were swapped could they accomplish the same feats. For Caitlin I would say she probably would have a ring with more help. Idk about the others if switched with her. I heard a stat recently, that if true is insane, that she accounts for 60-70% of her teams offense.Rings to me is a team accomplishment so I don’t think it should be factored into any mythical GOAT debate. 2- I would agree with you on Diana’s comments if it was in a bubble but she has said other snarky things about Caitlin that colors those comments differently. Add that to the real hate she is getting from other WNBA players and the seemingly concerted effort to discount her impact in order to raise the status of the other women as if she is not the main one to bring new eyes to the sport makes me feel like comments like that one from a decorated player hoping to elevate her sport is unnecessary at best, hating at worst

Yeah she's good but it sounds so dumb when people talk about her like "one of the greatest players this game has ever seen". Sure, the women's game, undoubtedly. She broke a scoring record that never had a chance of being broken by men because they all leave for the NBA early. Lots of people shoot threes. At the end of the day she might be the best women's NCAA player ever but there are still thousands of men at any level of basketball that can make her look silly.
  • There is no conversation, she is my favorite player period. She is not, and probably will never be… So? What Taurasi said that irritated many, me included was “Paige, next question”. Was/is Larry Bird the goat? Of course not. So silly except for a very few, rare athletes. MJ, Gretzky, for a long time Pele, Nadia Comaneci, in Gymnastics, Jack Nicklaus, pretty much it, who cares. Listening to someone drone on and on about things I already know, who talks like he is the smartest guy in the room has little entertainment value for me. No haters, puleeeeze. JP
