  • I've been writing songs for ages, and as you were talking I realised that I have ended up adhering to many of these rules just from simple trial and error over time. That said, I thought your complicated melody was great! Although I definitely agree that breaking it down into chunks and motifs and (slightly) repetitive bits would help... :) Great video, thumbs up!
